Third Party Accessory Maker Cracks iOS 7’s Lightning Chip Detection [video]

As it turns out, one 3rd party accessory maker has already cracked Apple’s detection and fooled iOS 7 into thinking uncertified Lightning accessories are certified ones.

When plugging an unauthorized Lightning cable into your device, iOS 7 will send you a notification to inform that you’re not using a ‘certified’ Lightning cable or accessory and that it may not work reliably with your device. As it turns out, one 3rd party accessory maker has already cracked Apple’s detection and fooled iOS 7 into thinking uncertified Lightning accessories are certified ones.
