iOS 5.0.1 Ships Unencrypted. Siri Port For ‘Older Devices’ Coming Soon

Back in November, Apple confirmed that they have no plans on bringing Siri to *older devices* such as the iPhone 4. But according to MuscleNerd, today’s new build of iOS 5.0.1 ships unencrypted and wide open for inspection, allowing developers to easily grab all the Siri files they need for a port without piracy.

The jailbreak community already fully ported Siri to the iPhone 4iPhone 3GS and iPod Touch 4G but unfortunately there was no way to release the port to the public at the time because Apple owns the copyright on the software, images, and data used inside iOS.

There’s no official word on the subject, but with today’s iOS 5.0.1 a Siri port might drop soon. We will keep you updated. Stay tuned…
