Just a quick heads-up: The Chronic DevTeam has updated Absinthe to v0.4. The new version comes with the following changelog :
– Mac: added support for OSX 10.5, PPC and Intel CPU
– added consistency check on startup to make sure required files are in place
– Windows: fixed bug in payload generator that might cause a crash

A few hours ago, we told you that Corona 5.0.1 Untether jailbreak was updated to v1.0-7 to include planetbeing’s iBooks image loading bugs fix. Corona v1.0-7 failed to work on the iPhone 4S running iOS 5, so it has been updated once again to fix that problem.
Saurik informs us that ALL jailbroken iOS users should install this updated ( iPhone 4S/iPad 2 users included ) except “old bootrom” iPhone 3GS users. You can find Corona in Cydia….

Saurik has just released two new versions of Corona in about 30 minutes – v1.0-4 and v1.0.5. Users of redsn0w or the older packages should install. This fixes both iBooks and launchd (again). Corona is available for free in Cydia…
It’s great that we can finally untether jailbreak iOS 5.0.1 ( iPhone 4S/iPad 2 jailbreak coming in a week ), but what about an unlock? iPhone DevTeam’s b3 version of redsn0w fixes a problem where re-running redsn0w over an existing jailbreak would cause MobileSubstrate-based apps to stop running until MS was installed again. Now you can re-run the redsn0w jailbreak step without worrying about that (but still remember to de-select the “Install Cydia” option if it’s already installed). TIP: If auto-detection fails and redsn0w tells you no identifying data was found, you can always pre-select theappropriate 5.0.1 IPSW using “Extras->Select IPSW”.

iPhone DevTeam’s b2 version of redsn0w includes the launchctl-related fix by @planetbeing as mentioned by @saurik here and here. As usual, you can just re-run redsn0w in jailbreak mode over your existing 5.0.1 jailbreak (even a PwnageTool one), making sure to de-select “Install Cydia” if you do. A couple of hours ago Corona, Chronic DevTeam’s untethered jailbreak for iOS 5.0.1, was updated to fix some issues it had with ‘launchctl’- a service management framework for starting, stopping and managing daemons, applications, processes, and scripts.
