Ha! It seems Yahoo! is back in action and yesterday at MacWorld2010 they demoed a new tool called Sketch-a-Search. With Sketch-a-Search, no typing is required, and it’s not based on keywords. Instead, they compared the interface to an Etch-a-Sketch drawing toy.
Sketch-a-Search is really meant as a local search tool and it goes beyond finding restaurants. The tool is currently being tested by Yahoo! and it might involve more than drawing a search boundary, but also, for example, drawing your route to and from work then finding locations nearby.
