In the lead up to the release of the iPhone 5, we’ve managed to get hold of a patent submitted by Apple all the way back in 1985.
With a date patent listed as December 10, 1985 (more than a quarter of a century old) and filed in 1982, the sketches are for a potential Apple flip-phone design which was going to be in the shape of an actual apple (their logo) and would have a push keypad. Pretty unbelievable when you look at their current array of sleek and minimal products.
