Developers of PushGmail came up with a new app for iPhone and iTouch today, that quickly created a lot of buzz on the Internet: Ping! . This apps mix between instant and sms messaging and best part is that the app is free and real real fast.

Developers of PushGmail came up with a new app for iPhone and iTouch today, that quickly created a lot of buzz on the Internet: Ping! . This app is mix between instant and sms messaging and best part is that the app is free and real real fast.

As you can see in the screenshots above, the app was designed to look and also behave like your native SMS app but the only difference is that your messages will be sent for free , will pop-up on your friends screen anywhere in the world for free and also the app supports push notifications.

There not much to talk about setting up the app. All you need to do is create a username and you are good to go. If you want to drop me one you can do it @ murdaFSM. Same name i have on twitter.

You can use the app in portrait and landscape mode as well. You might find the app kinda buggy when you will try to switch from portrait to landscape. You will loose the box where you need to type the message. And also i found that it will not always go from portrait to landscape.
