LogMeIn just released an iOS app that gives you basic remote access to a Mac or PC from your iPhone or iPad for free. This kind of software has been around for years now — Windows XP had the capability sort of built in, and there are third party apps like Go To My PC and Symantec’s PC Anywhere.
FSM EXCLUSIVE DEAL Like its predecessors, LogMeIn works with a program you install on your PC and lets you access and control your computer, edit files, run applications, or troubleshoot — though we’re not sure you’d want to brag about that last feature to your family and friends. The $39.99 in-app “Pro” upgrade enables HD video and audio streaming for PCs, with Mac support coming soon, integration with popular cloud services (it’s not clear which ones), remote printing, and management of your photo library.
