We used an old, non-active TMobile SIM card that’s been cut. We have no idea where it came from, we just found it in a drawer. As you noticed, the TMobile SIM was inserted before connecting to iTunes, and it showed no activity what so ever ( not searching, nothing ). Then, when the device was plugged-in into iTunes, it connected to the iTunes store and activated the device and you can see it saying ‘no service’ ( because the SIM wasn’t activated ). You can also see the carrier choices in the Settings.app – and those of you who unlocked and iPhone before, know that only an unlocked iPhone shows the carrier options. Also, if you look close, you can see ( behind LockInfo ) the ‘Connect to iTunes’ logo…
We didn’t bother that much to edit the video, we used the raw and uncut version that will give everybody motion sickness. Sorry about the annotations, we forgot to mask-out the phone number and we suck at adding annotation.

Apple’s servers are down at the moment. NO IMEI will be submitted until they are back up. Thanks for your patience…. I’m sure everybody knows about the downtime on Apple’s servers. Because of that, everything slowed down, and it takes up to 72 hours now. If you placed your order on Thursday nigh/Friday morning, your IMEI is being processed but it will take longer. UPDATE 2: The service will be back up today ( we don’t know for how long tho ). You have two options: 1. believe whatever you want to believe 2. get your iPhone unlocked. IF/WHEN Apple will block the whole thing, if your IMEI didn’t get processed, ( with proof ) you will get a full refund.
UPDATE 3: All IMEI’s that were paid up till 4-18-11 will be submitted again tomorrow morning to test server. Reports are that supplier had a few more customers confirm unlock from 2 -4 day server.So thats a good sign!
UPDATE 4: Sorry, for the late update on this post, but we all got families during the holidays. Sometimes even family that you didn’t know you have. Anyway… we will know for sure if this is still working or not, tomorrow. We really understand that some you who got in this game late, are super frustrated about it. It’s not our fault that Apple took down the servers and we need to wait so long for them to restore them ( it might not be true, but our theory is that this has something to do with Amazon’s servers being down ). UPDATE 5 ( 4/27/11 ): this is it. we’re closing this thread. the thing is we’re getting conflicting reports about it, but so far, nothing happened. We’re processing all refunds at the moment.
