FlashbackChecker: Easy Way To Check If Your Mac Is Infected With Flashback Trojan

A new application has been released which makes checking a Mac for the Flashback malware infection as simple as clicking a button.

You probably know by now that over 600,000 Macs are now infected with the BackDoor.Flashback.39 trojan. Chances of 99.9% of you being infected are slim to none, but it never hurts to check. You can use the terminal ( f-secure has a great tutorial ) or, you can use a nifty little app called FlashbackChecker. All you need to do is download FlashbackChecker from Github , unzip it, run it and click the big button that says ‘Check for Flashback Infection’.

If you see the ‘No Signs of infection were found’ you’re safe. If you’re infected, you’ll see a message that says ‘Potential issues found’.

Also, make sure you update to the latest version of Java for OSX, and make sure you always keep your OSX up to date…
