The rumors that Apple is planning the release of an iPad Mini continue to grow after reports by The Korea Times that Samsung are supplying them with LCD technology suitable for slightly smaller devices – probably with a 7.86″ screen (the current iPad a has a 9.7″ and the iPhone has a 3.5″).
If they do release an iPad Mini, it will be to compete with Amazon’s new Kindle Fire and will apparently be released between now and June, 2012. The decision would also go against the former CEO Steve Jobs’ belief that 7-inch tablets are too big to compete with smartphones and too small to vie with the iPad.
