Blurring the line between search engine and browser, Yahoo today unveiled Axis. It’s the first of its kind: searching with Axis doesn’t return a list of links, but rather webpage image previews optimized for touchscreen navigation.
For desktop users, it exists as a plugin atop your existing browser, while its iOS counterparts are standalone browsers. In all, it’s a pretty remarkable achievement from a company thought to be dead in the water.
