Amazon today unveiled the “Echo”, a cloud-connected piece of hardware that is part speaker, part Siri-like assistant that is able to answer a variety of requests and perform various functions like playing music.
Echo is entirely controlled by voice and will only wake up to answer question or perform various functions when you use the wake word that you define.
Echo is priced at $99 for Amazon Prime members and $199 for non-Prime members, but currently users must request an invitation from Amazon to be allowed to purchase the device.
