It was unexpected, but Apple announced that they will livestream today’s event, but there’s a catch: you can only view it on Mac, iPhone, iPad, or iPod. The reason: Apple is using a technology called HTTP Live Streaming introduced with Snow Leopard, QuickTime X and iOS 3.0. But, there is a easy way to bypass the restrictions and with VLC, a free cross-platform media player:

1. Download VLC, and install it
2. Go to File> Open Network…
3. Click on Network and copy-paste this url: http://devimages.apple.com/iphone/samples/bipbop/gear1/prog_index.m3u8
4. Click Open
5. Enjoy
