With the announcement of the iPhone 5 on it’s way, sources have rumored that the new device will work on the long-term evolution (LTE) network. Samsung holds numerous patents on the LTE network and will pursue legal action if the new Apple device is indeed powered by LTE.

HTC is currently in court with Apple over 4G LTE patents, the case could lead to a ban on the latest iPad and iPhone 5 if not ruled in Apple’s favor. CNET reached out to Samsung and Apple for a comment regarding this matter but no updates have been received yet from either party.
