Hater app launched to much fanfare at SXSW’s Start-Up Village and offers users a personal stream for uploading or taking photos of things they dislike.
“You share the things you hate with the people you love,” says Banks, Hater’s CEO. “It’s basically like Instagram for everything you hate.”
Images may then be shared with the larger ‘Hater’ community, where they can be viewed by others for comments and feedback. That being said, it was never Banks’ intention to create an outlet for mindless negativity. “It doesn’t have to be so negative,” he says. “You might hate something so much you want to change it, which is the complete opposite of what happens when you ‘Like’ something.”
