Windows iPhone Web Simulator

It’s not perfect, but iBBDemo correctly renders Webkit targeted html including the custom -webkit CSS extenstions, effectively giving us a compelling demo/test platform for iPhone Web content from the comfort of a Windows desktop.

A few weeks ago, we talked about iPhoney – a Mac iPhone Web Simulator. Of course there is no real way to emulate the iPhone on Windows machines, but the guys at Blackbaud , released the next best thing. It’s not perfect, but iBBDemo correctly renders Webkit targeted html including the custom -webkit CSS extenstions, effectively giving us a compelling demo/test platform for iPhone Web content from the comfort of a Windows desktop.

Downside is that this simulator was tested only on Windows Vista. If you want to give it a try, you can find more info and download the app here.

Adobe Afraid Of HTML5, Tries To Slow Down Adoption Via W3C Politics?

Ian ‘Hixie’ Hickson (Google) and Anne van Kesteren (Opera) were both claiming that Adobe was blocking the publication of the latest HTML5 specifications by posting a formal complaint to a members-only W3C mailing list.

We covered the HTML5 phenomenon from the beginning, iPhoneifying the subject from an Flash vs HTML5 point of view. In public, Adobe claims to “support” HTML5. On the private W3C mailing list, though, they’ve placed an objection to prevent the current spec from being published. It seems that Adobe, is that Adobe is trying to block the API spec for the canvas element. The canvas element hasn’t gotten as much attention as the video element, but clearly, 2D graphics in canvas is competitive with Flash, and it appears that Adobe’s plan is to sabotage it via W3C politics.

Rackspace’s iPhone Developer Talking About The iPad SDK

According to Mayo, the new iPad SDK is similar to the iPhone’s. The only difference is the new user interface features associated with the iPad because of the greater amount of screen real estate

A few days ago we took a first look at the iPad Simulator and discovered that even though the iPad lacks a cam, the interface for one is implemented in the SDK. The iPad is a device which was way too anticipated , and because of all the rumors – the endless obnoxious ubiquitous rumors – everybody was pretty much disappointed when Steve Jobs unveiled his latest creation.

iPhone Body Mods That Might Enhance Your User Experience

Human body modifications that might enhance the iPhone user experience

Just the other day,Zeke told me how he tried to mod a bluetooth head piece into a “big ass ear plug”. In case you didn’t know, Zeke is the shop manager and tattoo artist for Psycho Tattoo studios in Atlanta GA by day, and an iPhone dev and FSM editor by night.

Today, while catching up with some of my favorite site, i found on core77 a badass illustration of iPhone body mods that might enhance your iPhone user experience? Coincidence or not, this is still fun and something for your to enjoy this Sunday ( or whenever you are going to see this ) .

PS: You might want to take a look at this iPad infographic as well ….

If The SDK Does Not Lie, We Are 100% Sure That The iPad Had A Cam

The highlighted line of code is running a check, as the app opens, and it is checking to see if a camera exists on a device, because (at least until now) if you tried to open a camera on a device that didn’t have one (iTouch) it would crash.

At first the SDK and iPad simulator made us believe that the iPad had a camera but it was pulled out at the last minute. Later we got hold of some picture that presented the structure of the iPad which seems to be similar to the MacBook, so basically the iPad was originally planed with a iSight-ish cam. The SDK is revealing the truth. The iPad had a camera.
