Disable Voice Control On The iPhone And iPod Touch 3rd Gen

CYDIA, HACKS

So you have some new tweaks that enable hotkeys from the home button. Tweaks like backgrounder and MultiflOw or quickboard and quick widgets. But holding down the home key on your iPhone 3G(S) and third gen iPod touch keeps triggering voice control.

Well here’s the fix. A new “theme” in winterboard called, you guessed it, disable “voice control”.  It’s from the hackyouriphone repo and as easy to use as applying the theme in winterboard. Using winterboard on the 3G used to cause some slowdowns, but not even noticable on the 3G(S). This is, in my opinion, a better way to disable voice control, as opposed to just removing it, so you can re-enable when ever you want by just unchecking the theme.
