Apple allowed Bluetooth-based setups for Apple TVs last year, and now they’re extending AirPlay’s capabilities in the same way. With iOS 8, you no longer need a network connection to beam presentations and games wirelessly to an Apple TV. With iOS 8, you can wirelessly connect iPad, iPhone, or iPod touch to Apple TV without first connecting to the organization’s network. Which means you can present or share your work even if you’re offline.

In the video Apple’s SVP of Internet Services Eddy Cue says that, later this year they’ve got the best product pipeline in 25 years. In the last 25 years, Apple has released the iMac, iPod, iPhone, iPad and MacBook Air. So for Cue to make such a strong statement, it can only mean that we’re in for a treat. iOS 7.1 Code Suggests That Apple Is Working On Siri For Apple TV

New code found in iOS 7.1 and iOS 7.1.1, suggests that Apple is working on building support for Siri on the Apple TV.

New code found in iOS 7.1 and iOS 7.1.1, suggests that Apple is working on building support for Siri on the Apple TV.  References to a new Apple TV were previously found in iOS 7 builds and the new strings suggest that voice input and feedback will be included on the next gen devices.

A couple of weeks ago Tim Cook revealed at the shareholder meeting that its set-top box Apple TV generated more than a billion dollar in revenues for the first time in a fiscal year, selling more than 10 million units.

The fourth generation of Apple TV could be introduced this spring; we layed out our concept of an Apple TV touch a couple of weeks ago. But it doesn’t actually take a full blown set-top box to invade the living room as Google’s widely successful dongle Chromecast which debuted last week in Europe has proved.
