iPad Gets The First “In House Built” Apple A4 Processor

During today’s keynote, uncle Steve said that the iPad will be based on the A4 chip, which is the first processor based entirely produced by Apple ARM architecture.

This is, of course a big step ahead for Apple, and they show us why they acquired P.A. Semi. We don’t have too much info about the new processor , but we know it brings 1GHz and low consumption.Apple estimated 10 hours of browsing or video playback and up to a month in standby! ( say wha?!?! they always do that, in reality … )

This can also mean that the next gen iPhone will feature a “home-made” Apple processor that will feature superior performance ( compared to 3Gs ) and probably improved battery life.
