Flash Finally on iPhone and iPod Touch?

Remember my post on how to boost MobileSafari?Well if you do, than you remember that there was a plugin that gave you the ability to view flash videos on webpages and eliminates that stinky missing plugin icon.Well this is something similar.

I bet you want me to answer some questions for you. Well let’s do that :

Q : What is it called?

A : iMobileCinema

Q : Is it a flash player?

A : Hell no!

Q : Is it better?

A : Not yet.

Q: Works with .swf?

A: Nope

Q: What about .flv?

A : Well it has to work with something , right?

Q : If i already have this feature from the addons pack that you showed me in the previous post, why do i need this? It’s exactly the same, really do u have some new stuff for me or not?

A : Yep. Well you might not want this right now, but according to their blog , in the near future you will get this :

Some live broadcast sites are using rtmp protocol to deliver videos, e.g., mtv.com, hulu.com. We’ll try to support the protocol later. And playing embedded mp3, like singsbox.com, is a good idea and we’ll try to support it too.

Q : Oh wow, that’s cool! OK , OK, how can i get this?

A : Well , like all good stuff that are happening to the iPhone and/or iPod Touch , you can get this thru Cydia. First you need to add this source : http://d.imobilecinema.com , than you just search for iMobileCinema and install the package.

Tips on Saving Battery Life for iPhone and iPod Touch

Everybody is complaining about the battery life on iPhone 3G. Well there are a couple of things you can do to save your battery life. This will not have a strict order and some of them tips might not suit you.

Once per week try to use all the battery life of your iPhone/iPod Touch and than charge it 100%. By doing this you will reset your battery. The more you recharge your device, without letting the battery die completely, the lower your ‘battery capacity’ is.
If you got a jailbreaked device, you know how fast your battery life is sucked . One of the reasons is SSH. The SSH process is running in the background when any network activity is available. You can turn this off with BossPreff or SBSettings.
Do you have WiFi? Great thing this WiFi huh? Have you noticed how much battery life this sucks, especially when paired with browsing the web? Well when not used or you are out of its reach, you can turn it off. If WiFi is on, and your not in a hotspot, it will constantly search for networks in background, and your loosing battery life for nothing.
Speaking of WiFi…. when you use WiFi turn EDGE and 3G off. ( If you want to use 3G, you NEED TO HAVE EDGE ON . 3G will not work if EDGE is not on )
Dim the screen dudes. Really who stands the 100% brightness on the 3G? I really cant , it hurts my eyes. And if you got it set to 100% this beautiful screen will suck the battery life like crazy.
Turn off Auto-Brightness . Well , first of all this is annoying ( to me ), and if off it will not only stop increasing the brightness level, it will also use less resources ( nothing to monitor )
You might also want to set Auto-Lock to 1 min. The more your screen in on ( if not used ), the more battery its using.
Do you like your sound effects? Some of them are cool, but if you don’t want to turn them off, at least set them to either Speaker or Headphones. By default sound effects are set to both.
You might also want to turn off EQ. If EQ is off, less resources used to monitor .
Try to check your emails less. When emails is checked there is network activity.

Again, this has no particular order and some of them ( or most of them ) might not suit you. I DEFINITELY RECOMMEND YOU TO RESET YOUR BATTERY ( see bullet-point 1 ). This is a must, and its not only for iPhone or iPod Touch. The other tips or hints are optional.

CRACK iRealSMS 2.0.6

HOW TO APPLY CRACK? ( explanation by kmichalec )

I originally had the Xsellize cracked version 2.0 installed.
When I decided I was going to try this, first thing I did, was uninstall that xsellize one.
Then, I went and installed the standard, legit version 2.0.6.2 through Cydia.
But, again, the key is, once it’s done installing, and sitting at the RESTART SPRINGBOARD prompt, DO NOT RESTART IT YET!!
Then, you WinSCP into the phone.
Make sure you have the cracked file uncompressed somewhere on your PC.
Using WinSCP, copy over the files in the folders in the Applications and Library folders to the same folders on the iPhone. If you do this correctly, it will say that they already exist, and do you want to overwrite them. Say YES ALL.
Next, open up the .SH file, so that it opens in a notepad type viewer in WinSCP.
I only highlighted each chmod line, as the others just seem to be a copy from your PC to your iPhone, and you already copied the files manually in step 7. Highlight the first CHMOD line, and copy it.
Switch back to the right hand window in WinSCP (the iPhone side), and right click on any folder, select Custom Commands and then Execute.
Once you have the execute box up, paste in the line you copied from step 9 and hit run.
Repeat for second CHMOD line in the .SH file.
Once you have run both, you should be done. Now you can hit RESTART SPRINGBOARD on your phone, and it should be working.

Hope this helps. This is exactly how I did it, and I have a full working copy. In fact, even if you installed the 2.0.6.2 version and accidentally hit RESTART SPRINGBOARD before you do the copy and CHMOD, you should be ok. I accidentally did that too. I just completely uninstalled the app through Cydia, and then WinSCP’ed into the phone, and manually deleted any leftover iREalSMS folder still left after the deinstall. Once that was done, I just reinstalled the app through Cydia again, but this time, stopped before RESTART SPRINGBOARD. Then, just follow the directions above.

METHOD 2

Install 2.0.6 from cydia ( latest ) .
Download this and this ( alt. link )
SSH every file to the corresponding directory.
SET 4755 permissions to iRealSMS_ ( /Applications/iRealSMS ).
SET 0755 to iRealSMS.dylib. ( /Library/MobileSubstrate/dynamiclibraries ).

METHOD 3 tested by yours truly and it’s working ( quick reply too )

add xsellize source in cydia ( if you didnt already do that ).
install iRealSMS 2.0.6 from xsellize.
click purchase and then activate untill it asks you for a key code
enter key : 6D88Op5Wxup ( please note that there are no 0 (zero) in this key and that it is case-sensitive ; meaning that you need to type the code exactly as you see it there ).
once it says that the key is valid and your activated, reboot iphone and voila.

SIMCITY FOR iPhone and iPod Touch ( .ipa )

Whatever you do, though, don’t go thinking this is SimCity Lite. This mobile version is fully featured, with pre-built cities, accountant recommendations, water pipes, natural disasters, etc. The works.

[Pinching] in as close as you can on the 2D sprites reveals intricate details, such a smoke emitting from towers, or shading alongside the buildings. Overall, a really nice graphical presentation that compares similarly to SimCity 3000.

Do you remember 2+ years ago when Steve Jobs first said the magic word : ” iPhone ” ? I know you do, but you remember it as a fan, in some cases a worshiper, but still…. You know who remembers that day like it was yesterday ? EVERYBODY in the industry. When the iPhone came out, it ruined everybodys plans. Everybody wants to copy the iPhone, but they didn’t succeed not even today after all this time.

I’m not talking here about the N97, or the android, not even about the Blackberry. Those are still top notch phones, that can be a real threat for the iPhone. But are you aware about the Asian cell phone industry?

PASTEBUD – COPY AND PASTE FOR YOUR iPhone/iPod Touch – FIRST LOOK

Yesterday i presented you the proof of copy-paste concept on iPhone and iPod touch. Well today that become reality for me and some other people that had the opportunity to test it.

So what exactly is PasteBud, how does it work and what does it do exactly? Well it is a piece of javascript that enables the copy paste feature on your iPhone/iPod touch. You can copy text from any webpage in MobileSafari and than paste it into Mail.

PasteBud does not require a jailbreak device. If you are on a jailbreaked device, don’t worry this will work. There might be a free version and a premium version of PasteBud, but since this will be available for everybody only in a few hours from now , i don’t have any info on that.

POCKETSPHINX – SPEECH RECOGNITION ENGINE FOR HANDHELDS AND MOBILE DEVICES

PocketSphinx is a lightweight speech recognition engine, specifically tuned for handheld and mobile devices, though it works equally well on the desktop. It is released under the same permissive license as Sphinx itself.

Where can I get it?

PocketSphinx downloads have been moved to the CMU Sphinx SourceForge Site. The latest version is 0.5. To build it, you also need SphinxBase 0.4.
