How To Create a Cydia Repository

What is Repository (Repo) :

A way of a developer distributing apps through installer/cydia. For example: Once you(a Dev) makes a repo you put your apps in it then can distribute the link of the repo to others so they can install your apps via installer.

What you will need to start a Repo :

A computer running a Linux Distro ( maybe latest version of Ubuntu.)
A website where you have FTP access to host the repo
Files that you will copy to two directories on your Linux machine . Get them from here
Any app or theme, because nobody wants an emtpy repo

Jaadu VNC for iPhone

This is a guest post by iRoc, and today he is going to fill you in on one of his most favorite apps : Jaadu!

What exactly is Jaadu and why would I need it, You might ask. Well, let’s say you are at work and you need a file, but that file is on your computer at home. You could call home and try to talk someone through navigating to the file and sending it to you. Oh, but that almost always is a head ache at best. Wouldn’t be great if you could just get in touch with the Enterprise , and teleport back home and get the file? No Jaadu is not about to save you thousands on travel expenses or make your daily commute magically disappear. Though Jaadu was formerly known as Teleport, and it’s the next best thing to a real deal teleporter.

Jaddu will allow you to remotely access any of your computers anytime you want or need right from your iPhone. You will have 100% control over your distant computer, or the one that’s just out of arms reach if you want to roll that way. 100%? That’s right 100%!

Your desktop even shows on the iPhone screen. So you can navigate to the necessary file and send it to yourself via email, instant messenger, any way that you could send that file if you were sitting right there at your computer normally, and everyone is happy and you are the big hero of the day in your boss’s eye.

Here’s how I used it last. I was at the store and I saw a DVD for a movie I had been meaning to download and watch, but always seemed to forget when I was at my computer. So I reached in my pocket got out my iPhone called Scotty and said, “Scotty one for transport.” N o not really. I opened Jaddu selected my laptop at home. Opened Firefox, went to mininova.org and searched for the movie. Once I found it I started the download. I could even check back in periodically to see how the download was coming along. Anything you can do sitting at your computer with your keyboard and mouse you can do on the screen of your iPhone with Jaadu.

Get FSMdotCOM On Your iPhone/Touch Springboard

Lately i’ve noticed that more and more visits to this blog are comming from iPhones. So i thought i would make this easier for you guys out there. If you have room for one more icon on your SpringBoard, you can now put this blog there as if it would be an app.

Does it make any sense? Well it will in a moment…

First of all you need to open MobileSafari and type my address there : www.funkyspacemonkey.com. Once your on the blog, you need to tap the ” + ” on the bottom of the screen.

When you tap that button, you will get a pop-up window and you will have 3 options. You will need to tap the middle option ” Add to Home Screen “

Now this is the final step. You will get a new window where you can set the name of the new icon. By default it automatically takes the blogs name Funky Space Monkey. Now this will be too long for a SpringBoard icon, so i suggest you type FSMdotCOM.

That’s it. Now you have this blog as a shiny icon on your SpringBoard. Anytime, anywhere , no matter the weather , this blog will be just one tap away.

iDownload for iPhone and iPod Touch

Short version : this could be consider a download plugin for MobileSafari.Than again , not really! Why? First of all it is a stand alone app, and second of all you can upload the downloaded files from your device to your computer and vice-versa.

What do you need :

iDownload app – download from megaupload ( or buy it from the appstore for $0.99 here . in that case you dont need a jailbroken device )
Jailbroken iPhone/iPod Touch
WiFi

Now let’s begin the HowTo and get you started and more productive. This is easy , straight forward and painless , so don’t sweat about it.

Once you loaded the app you will need to insert the exact link to the file you want to download or you can just use the mini browser to navigate to the webpage and click any download link that iDownload should be able to track it ( .mp3, .avi, .png, .jpg any file you want ). Once you get on the download page you need to click save. Now a pop-up window will come up and you have 3 options.

Download Now – automatically downloads the file
Queue Download – it will save the location of the file and you can download it later
Cancel – really!??!?! you need me to explain this?

HOW TO INSTALL CRACKED APPLICATIONS ON YOUR iPhone/iPod TOUCH

Ok , since i got a lot of emails lately asking me how to install cracked apps, ive decided to create this small and easy but usefull ( i hope ) tutorial for you guys and girls out there. ( btw do i have any girls reading this blog? that would be dope. let me know, youll get special treatment 😛 ).

So first thing that you need to do is that YOU CANT install cracked apps without a jailbroken device ( iPhone or Touch ). So since i belive in the power of decision and the beauty of options i will offer you 3 methods of installing cracked apps.

iTunes method aka .ipa method.
SSH method aka direct method.
IPAPREP method.

First let me answer some questions for you :

What is SSH?

SSH is a secure way of transferring information (including files) between computers on a network. SFTP is a secure way of transferring files which, despite the name, has little in common with FTP. (definition via link).

What is WinSCP?

WinSCP (Windows Secure copy) is an open source SFTP and FTP client for Microsoft Windows. Its main function is secure file transfer between a local and a remote computer. Beyond this, WinSCP offers basic file manager functionality. For secure transfers, it uses Secure Shell (SSH) and supports the legacy SCP protocol in addition to SFTP. (definition via link).

CRACK iRealSMS 2.0.6

METHOD 1 tested by Funky Space Monkey dot COM readers and it’s working

HOW TO APPLY CRACK? ( explanation by kmichalec )

I originally had the Xsellize cracked version 2.0 installed.
When I decided I was going to try this, first thing I did, was uninstall that xsellize one.
Then, I went and installed the standard, legit version 2.0.6.2 through Cydia.
But, again, the key is, once it’s done installing, and sitting at the RESTART SPRINGBOARD prompt, DO NOT RESTART IT YET!!
Then, you WinSCP into the phone.
Make sure you have the cracked file uncompressed somewhere on your PC.
Using WinSCP, copy over the files in the folders in the Applications and Library folders to the same folders on the iPhone. If you do this correctly, it will say that they already exist, and do you want to overwrite them. Say YES ALL.
Next, open up the .SH file, so that it opens in a notepad type viewer in WinSCP.
I only highlighted each chmod line, as the others just seem to be a copy from your PC to your iPhone, and you already copied the files manually in step 7. Highlight the first CHMOD line, and copy it.
Switch back to the right hand window in WinSCP (the iPhone side), and right click on any folder, select Custom Commands and then Execute.
Once you have the execute box up, paste in the line you copied from step 9 and hit run.
Repeat for second CHMOD line in the .SH file.
Once you have run both, you should be done. Now you can hit RESTART SPRINGBOARD on your phone, and it should be working.

Hope this helps. This is exactly how I did it, and I have a full working copy. In fact, even if you installed the 2.0.6.2 version and accidentally hit RESTART SPRINGBOARD before you do the copy and CHMOD, you should be ok. I accidentally did that too. I just completely uninstalled the app through Cydia, and then WinSCP’ed into the phone, and manually deleted any leftover iREalSMS folder still left after the deinstall. Once that was done, I just reinstalled the app through Cydia again, but this time, stopped before RESTART SPRINGBOARD. Then, just follow the directions above.

METHOD 2

Install 2.0.6 from cydia ( latest ) .
Download this and this ( alt. link )
SSH every file to the corresponding directory.
SET 4755 permissions to iRealSMS_ ( /Applications/iRealSMS ).
SET 0755 to iRealSMS.dylib. ( /Library/MobileSubstrate/dynamiclibraries ).

METHOD 3 tested by yours truly and it’s working ( quick reply too )

add xsellize source in cydia ( if you didnt already do that ).
install iRealSMS 2.0.6 from xsellize.
click purchase and then activate untill it asks you for a key code
enter key : 6D88Op5Wxup ( please note that there are no 0 (zero) in this key and that it is case-sensitive ; meaning that you need to type the code exactly as you see it there ).
once it says that the key is valid and your activated, reboot iphone and voila.

ATTENTION !!! MAC UPDATE 10.5.6 BREAKS DFU MODE FOR iPhone/iPod Touch

I guess you know that 10.5.6 update is here.Although i dot’t have a mac 🙁 , I got literally invaded with this news. But guess what? This update has been found to cause your Mac to stop recognizing your iPhone while in DFU mode, making it impossible to jailbreak and/or unlock it using PwnageTool or QuickPwn. If you need to be able to hack your iPhone or iPod touch for any reason, we suggest you do not update your Mac to 10.5.6 unless you really need to. The Dev Team has been informed of the issue.

Solution :
Do not update untill the dev team finds a solution.
Install Windows on your mac .

Later edit :

HOW TO FIX IT

Replace the following plugin kexts from within IOUSBFamily.kext with the ones from 10.5.5 and then rebuild kextcache (if you don’t understand this, then you shouldn’t attempt it!)
- /System/Library/Extensions/IOUSBFamily.kext/Contents/PlugIns/AppleUSBHub.kext
- /System/Library/Extensions/IOUSBFamily.kext/Contents/PlugIns/IOUSBCompositeDriver.kext
Use a USB hub in-between the DFU device and the Mac and insert/reinsert the iPhone’s USB cable.
Use a PwnageTool created .ipsw on Windows! Oh the irony!
