Since iOS 5 was launched with iTunes Wi-Fi Sync many people have been very happy with their iPhones, iPods and iPads syncing at night while they sleep. However, many times we would like to sync when the device is not plugged in or at a specific time. The amount of button presses to get to the Wi-Fi Sync is just annoying. Recent applications including IconProject and Switcher have reduced the number of button presses for many settings but not Wi-Fi sync, until now.

WiFi Sync v2.0 Coming Soon. Brings 3G, EDGE, VPNs And Wi-Fi Hotspots Syncing Ability

Originally scheduled for December, WiFi Sync 2.0 is now in beta and aims to bring far greater stability and speed, along with a few useful features such as the ability to initiate a wireless sync from your iPhone, iPod touch or iPad.

FIX: Wi-Fi Sync For iPhone/iPod Touch/iPad Breaks Firmware Restores/Upgrades

The problem is that, the WiFi Sync Mac client will cause iTunes to go about 80% ( during a restore ) and then just hang.

A few days ago, Wi-Fi Sync for our iDevices was made available and life has been pretty sweet ever since.  As you might know, the wireless syncing capabilities comes as a combo: iDevice app and Mac client ( Windows coming soon ) . The problem is that, the Mac client will cause iTunes to go about 80% ( during a restore ) and then just hang.

There is an easy fix for this. Remove the Mac client, restore your iDevice and then re-install the client. Or you can do everything via Xcode, and you won’t have to remove the client…

A few weeks ago we told you about an app that will let you do just that, and that the app will be submitted to Apple for review. Of course Apple rejected it, and now you can find it in Cydia for $9.99 .

New day, new app in Cydia: Wi-Fi Sync. A few weeks ago we told you about an app that will let you do just that, and that the app will be submitted to Apple for review. Of course Apple rejected it, and now you can find it in Cydia for $9.99 . You will need the app installed on your iPhone and a client installed on your mac that you can get for free here ( alt mirrors: rapidshare and mediafire ). That’s it. Piece of cake…

PS: the app only works with Mac OSX 10.5 and 10.6 at the moment but a Windows version will be available soon.
