Brooklyn Nets’ Barclays Center: The Most High-Tech Stadium in Sports [video]

Coined “the most high-tech stadium in sports,” the Brooklyn Nets’ Barclays Center is outfitted with free Wi-Fi that’s designed to support a packed house full of smartphone-wielding fans, LTE and 3G service from the four major carriers and sponsor MetroPCS, and an app that lets fans order and pay for food from their seats without having to stand in concession lines.

It took nine years and some 35 court battles to build the billion-dollar stadium. The Nets won’t play their first home game against the Knicks until November 1st, but the Center itself opened last Friday in a ribbon-cutting ceremony that featured New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, Brooklyn borough president Marty Markowitz, and Nets owner Mikhail Prokhorov.

Air Dictate: Type On Your Mac Using Siri

Like Siri on your iPhone 4S? You’ll like it even more on your Mac. With Air Dictate, you can enter text on your computer by talking into your iPhone 4S. It’s that simple.

Like Siri on your iPhone 4S? You’ll like it even more on your Mac.  With Air Dictate, you can enter text on your computer by talking into your iPhone 4S. It’s that simple.

There are no public APIs for using the Siri voice-activated assistant for dictation, so developer Avatron found a way to control Siri and convert speech into text. The text then transfers to the corresponding Mac (with OS X 10.6.8 or higher) running the Air Dictate Receiver app.

This means you can turn your phone into a speech recognition microphone and input text into Mail, Word, Pages, and whatever other app loves text.

Air Dictate is available for $0.99 in the app store

Use Your iPhone or iPod Touch As a Memory Stick

Memory Stick lets you use your iPhone or iPod Touch for storing and viewing files or for transferring files between two computers. Using Memory Stick, you can access your iPhone or iPod Touch just like you would a network drive from either Windows Vista, Windows XP or a Mac. You can copy files to and from the device simply by dragging and dropping files from within Windows Explorer or Mac Finder. Your iPhone or iPod Touch simply needs to be available on the network via its wi-fi capability.

To copy files to and from the iPhone, open the Memory Stick application and press the File Sharing button in the bottom toolbar.

In the page that is then shown, ensure that the File Sharing switch is set to ON. Shortly afterwards, just underneath the switch, the iPhone’s IP address and the Bonjour address will be shown.

The IP address is needed if you are accessing the iPhone from Windows. Either the IP address or the Bonjour address may be used if accessing the iPhone from a MAC (note that if you are accessing the iPhone from a MAC, the bonjour address will be more convenient since unlike the IP address, it will always remain the same).

Once File Sharing is enabled, you may connect to the phone either from a web browser, or by accessing the phone as a drive from within Windows Explorer or the Finder application (or indeed any webDAV client).

iPhone and iPod Touch F.A.Q.

What is jailbreaking?
Jailbreaking refers to ‘breaking the iPod Touch and iPhone free from the clutches of Apple’. In other words you are hacking the iPod/iPhone inorder to gain access to its files so you can modify your device.

Is jailbreaking illegal?
NOOOOOOO!!!! Ok , this really bugs me. I keep getting emails that ask me the same question. IT IS YOUR DEVICE, YOUR PROPERTY! Once you bought it you can do what ever you want with it. Nobody cares what you do with it.

Ok, but does jailbreaking void my warranty?
Of course. Technically it voids your warranty. But if something goes wrong with your device, all you need to do is hit restore, and there is no way for apple to find out  if your device was hacked!

Are cracked apps illegal?
Another question i get emailed about a lot. Really now?!?!? Yes of course it is. You are stealing from the developers! Again, to get myself heard : from the devs, not from apple. Apple is just a 2 way sucking machine. Sucks money from you and from devs. Yes i know, this blog provides cracked apps as well. Why? So you can try it cracked, and if it really suits your needs to buy it. Take it as a fully functional, no time limit demo of the app. Now you can be an ipocrit that accuse me of providing links to cracked apps, but once you done accusing me, you start to download music. Anyway to make a resume : Yes it is illegal , and if you like the app, buy it!!!

Can Apple tell if i have cracked apps?
Do you plan on telling them?

I am a paranoid pussy question : Will i get arrested if i use cracked apps?
NO!!! again nobody will know that you download cracked apps, besides you. And your conscience that will tell you every night before you go to sleep that you just stole from the developers 🙂

Boost Your iPhone/iPod’s Settings W/ Supreme Preferences

Boost your iPhone/Touch prefferences with this … well…. addon. You can get it from Cydia but, you will need to activate it with winterboard. So let me make myself clear. Download it from cydia, than load winterboard and select it. The springboard will respring and now you will see the icon above instead the normal preferences icon. That means that supreme preferences are activated.

Once you load the supreme preferences, you will notice a new section there ( supreme preferences ) where the majority of the new features are, but it will add some new features among the usual settings. ( note : this will not overwrite your old preferences or something like that. it just adds new stuff )
