UK readers rejoice! FSM teamed up with EE and Gizmodo UK to give three lucky readers the chance to test out the superfast, ever-expanding 4GEE service, on three of the latest and hottest 4G handsets.

Testmodo is offering the chance for you to be selected to review brand new 4G handsets! Three lucky tech fanatics will be chosen to receive a new handset each month for the next three months, and will be set challenges to test their mettle against 4G. They’ll then write a short review every two weeks which will be posted on Gizmodo and they’ll get to keep all three pay as you go handsets they test. Everyone’s a winner!

A school in Bolton is pushing the boundaries of education by putting away pens and paper and giving all pupils and teachers their own iPad.

A school in Bolton is pushing the boundaries of education by putting away pens and paper and giving all pupils and teachers their own iPad.

The Essa Academy says it helps students and has cut costs, including reducing the school’s £80,000 photocopying bill to just £15,000 a year.

UK Regulator Ofcom Grants Early 4G Rollout to Everything Everywhere

Way back in February I wrote about the state of, and lack of, the UK’s LTE mobile broadband services.

Way back in February I wrote about the state of, and lack of, the UK’s LTE mobile broadband services. Originally Ofcom had stated that it expected LTE services to be fully deployed and operational between 2013-2014.

As it turns out Ofcom have announced their approval of operator Everything Everywhere to begin rolling out LTE services as of September 11th.

The UK’s 4G LTE Services


The first commercial 4G LTE network was rolled out back in 2009 when Swedish operator Teliasonera announced it was launching the next-generation standard. Two years later, by the fourth quarter of 2011, LTE had been launched in 21 countries worldwide (including six of our 17 comparator countries). By the end last year over two million subscribers were using LTE services on 31 networks around the world, according to the GSA.

Apple Selling Unlocked iPhone 4s In the UK

It is available for £499 and £599 for unlocked versions of the respective models. This will make it easier on the user to choose from the 6 ( possibly 7 soon ) UK carriers available.

O2 Says iPhone Video Calls Prices, Listed Over The Weekend Was Just An… Error

Over the weekend we reported that UK carrier O2 updated their iPhone pricing lists, and reveled that iPhone 4G will do video chat. The story was quickly picked up by every tech site on the web ( you’d think that a trained journalists would quote the source huh? ha, think again… ) and O2 had a busy Monday morning.
