If you want to unlock your Mac using your iOS device’s Touch ID, there’s an app for that. It’s called MacID and it’s now free for a limited time. The iOS app is available on the iTunes App Store, but it won’t work by itself. It needs an OS X companion app with you can download here.

Mesalation is a new Cydia tweak that allows you to set a passcode grace period when using the Touch ID. Once installed, you will need to go to Settings > General > Touch ID & Passcode > Require Passcode. Before installing this tweak you only had one option ‘immediately’. But with Mesalation installed you will see the default grace period list that you’d normally get when Touch ID is disabled.

With the iPhone 5s Apple has introduced a delay to ‘slide to unlock’ functionality because they assume users will use the Touch ID to unlock their devices. However, if for some reason you don’t want to use the Touch ID and you just want to go back to the old ‘slide to unlock’ you should check out NoDelay64 – a new tweak available in Cydia ( via BigBoss repo ) that will remove the delay in displaying of the ‘slide to unlock text’ on the iPhone 5s. There are no options to configure, just install and you should notice that the ‘slide to unlock’ text is visible and functional as soon as you wake up your device.
Similar to Knock, but targeted only to iPhone 5s user, BioUnlock will allow you to unlock your mac using the iPhone’s Touch ID. BioUnlock should be available in Cydia in the next few days.
A few months ago we showed you an app called Knock that pairs your iPhone to your Mac and allows you to unlock you Mac just by knocking on your phone. Similar to Knock, but targeted only to iPhone 5s user, BioUnlock will allow you to unlock your mac using the iPhone’s Touch ID. BioUnlock should be available in Cydia in the next few days.
