Google Play Movies & TV App Lets iOS Users Buy, Rent or Stream Content From Google Play

Google released today an iOS version of its Google Play Movies & TV app onto the App Store.

Just a quick heads-up: Google released today an iOS version of its Google Play Movies & TV app onto the App Store. The service allows users to watch their favorite movies and shows instantly on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch from wherever they are. You can buy or rent movies by visiting Google Play Store on any computer and watch them from any device over Wi-Fi using the Google Play Movies & TV app.

There are even more if you turn to the third party developer community. I’m sure there are plenty of people out there who are shouting “XMBC!” right now, and I’ve liked what I’ve seen, but I’ve always been sort of a zen kinda Mac user, here. It seems that whenever I find a tool I really like, it gets discontinued or bought up by a bigger fish. Thats why I like using Apple’s built-in tools whenever possible; they’re free, they’re included, and there’s less of a chance they’re going anywhere.

Spotify, the Swedish DRM-based music streaming service, has just updated their iOS app to v0.4.23 which adds the ability to stream or sync music at very high quality (320kbps).

We strongly suggest you give Spotify a try, and we guarantee that you’ll end up being one of their premium customers. Also, if you are a premium Spotify user, you also need to check out SpotOn Radio – the first app to use Spotify’s public APIs and one less reason to use Pandora.

Spotify announced earlier this month that it would become available in the U.S. “soon,” though open negotiations with Warner Music Group were reportedly preventing the company from setting a firm launch date.
