Upcoming Redsn0w Release Makes TinyUmbrella And Blob Saves Useful For iOS5+

MuscleNerd has announced that the upcoming redsn0w release makes both TinyUmbrella and Cydia blob saves useful for 5.0+ (1st verifies, then stitches). For time being, please just use most recent TU to save 5.0.1 blobs+APTicket…redsn0w will do the rest, should you need to restore.

There is no word on when the next version of redsn0w will drop but we will keep you updated. Stay tuned…

iH8sn0w Releases iFaith v1.4. Save The SHSH Blobs Of An Unsigned iOS

Today he updates iFaith to v1.4. iFaith dumps SHSH blobs for present iOS revision on iDevice and creates a pre-signed IPSW.

Back in June, iH8sn0w released a new tool called iFaith which dumps SHSH blobs for present iOS revision on iDevice and creates a pre-signed IPSW. Today he updates iFaith to v1.4, and comes with the following changes:

  • Now dumps iOS 4.4.x (Apple TV 2)/5.0.x apticket + SHSH blobs!
  • Dumping is MUCH faster.
  • Full Windows XP support.
  • Major code improvements.
  • Bug fixes.

NOTE: DOES NOT SUPPORT A5 DEVICES YET!

Just a quick heads-up: notcom just updated TinyUmbrella to v5.00.06 which allows iPad 2 GSM/CDMA users to restore 4.3.x without the fear of the recovery loop.

Just a quick heads-up: notcom just updated TinyUmbrella to v5.00.06 which allows iPad 2 GSM/CDMA users to restore 4.3.x without the fear of the recovery loop. Assuming you have 4.3, 4.3.1, 4.3.2, or 4.3.3 SHSHs and restore to one of those versions, TU will allow the restore to complete successfully. This functionality will only remain for so long as Apple signs the current firmware (4.3.4).
