Siri Proxy Can Add Limitless Functionality To Siri [video]

Siri Proxy is a proxy server for Apple’s Siri “assistant.” The idea is to allow for the creation of custom handlers for different actions. This can allow developers to easily add functionality to Siri.

The main example is a plugin to control a thermostat with Siri. It responds to commands such as, “What’s the status of the thermostat?”, or “Set the thermostat to 68 degrees”, or even “What’s the inside temperature?”

For more info and the source code for Siri Proxy check out github. Head over the break to check out the videos….

AppleTV 2 Converted Into A Web Server

Mac Mini Vault has converted an Apple TV 2 into a web server to see how well it will perform.

Mac Mini Vault has converted an Apple TV 2 into a web server to see how well it will perform. One of the fun projects going on at Mac Mini Vault is our Apple TV webserver. As much as we ‘d love to see how many Apple TV’s we could mount into a data center cabinet, it will never be a sustainable service to offer.

Have you noticed that today Cydia crashed a lot? Well it basically happened for all of us, you are not the only one. Basically Saurik had some problems with his server, and thats the reason why Cydia was crashing.Everything was resolved in minutes, so now it works perfectly.

However, for some users, this problem may have corrupted the repository files therefor they consequently find themselves with a Cydia app  that continues to crash.

Don’t worry about it, this things happen and to fix it, check out the previous post on how to fix cydia suddenly crash . Because now its not certain which files may be corrupted ( if any ), you should focus on alternative method 1 or alternative method 2 from that tutorial.

That being said, i really hope no files were corrupted on your end, and you wont need to get messy.

ServerMan: Turn Your iPhone Into A Server

ServerMan, this is the name of the software( still in experimental phase ), developed by FreeBit, is able to turn an iPhone into a small server that can be used as a shared disk, web server or FTP.

ServerMan, this is the name of the software( still in experimental phase ), developed by FreeBit, is able to turn an iPhone into a small server that can be used as a shared disk, web server or FTP.

Thanks to the “rack” functionality that  is implemented in the software, you can also connect up to 5 iPhones, to be used in raid mode to improve the performance of the device or mirror, to create backups of our files.

This is certainly an ambitious project that also leaves some questions about its actual benefits: First, there are not many people who have more than one iPhone and also the “energy” of the phone (consumption and overheating ) can turn this server oin a small stove .

Obviously, a good computer can do this and much more, but certainly one of the mini-server farm is a fun and very “stylish”.
