Apple Doesn’t Need A Warrant To Give Your Data To The Government And They Won’t Even Tell You About It

The Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF) has just released their annual report on which companies help protect your data from the government. The report is ranking the biggest tech companies for who does the best job protecting your data from being rifled through by the Federal Government. Guess what? Apple won’t even tell you nor does they need a warrant for passing on your ( our ) data to the gov.

Apple Stores Your Siri Data For Up To Two Years

After raising concerns about some fuzzy disclosures in Siri’s privacy policy, Wired has been contacted by Trudy Muller – Apple Spokesman – to clarify the issue. This is the first time that Apple has said how long it’s keeping Siri data.

Camera Roll Security Flaw Discovered In iOS

Another day and another security flaw has been detailed in iOS. The issue, this time, gives developers easy access to the device-holders camera-roll via the gps functionality.

Apple Stopped Supporting Carrier IQ With iOS 5

In a statement issued moments ago, the company said while it has used Carrier IQ’s network diagnostic software in the past, it recently stopped supporting it and plans to remove it from its mobile devices in a future software update. It also denied collecting any personal information.

OpenPaths: Upload Your iOS Device Location Data, Securely Store It & Explore It via A Map Interface

The site lets you upload your location data from your iOS device, securely store it and explore it via a map interface. It is an anonymous, user-contributed database for the personal location data files recorded by iOS devices.

Together with a few colleagues at NYTimes R&D, for the last week Jer Thorp has been working on a project called openpaths.cc. The site lets you upload your location data from your iOS device, securely store it and explore it via a map interface. It is an anonymous, user-contributed database for the personal location data files recorded by iOS devices. You can securely store and manage your personal location data, and grant researchers access to portions of that data as you choose.

New day, new app in Cydia: PrivaCy. Saurik just released this app in Cydia, and it was created to address concerns about App Store applications which track usage information and even location information for developers to analyze.
