ProTapper – iPhone MobileSubstrate Addon Adds White Dot On Screen, Palm Pre Style

ProTapper is a MobileSubstrate addon, which recreates a native function of the Palm Pre. Its purpose it is to add a white dot on the screen which correspondes to the finger tap area.

New day, new app in Cydia: ProTapper. ProTapper is a MobileSubstrate addon, which recreates a native function of the Palm Pre. Its purpose it is to add a white dot on the screen which correspondes to the finger tap area.

Of course this has no benefits at all, but some users might find it useful for (maybe) video presentations?. The consumption of RAM is minimal, since the operation is extremely simple and does not support multitouch. You can find ProTapper in Cydia for free.

Final Spec Comparison Chart : iPhone 3Gs vs Palm Pre vs Motorola Droid vs Nexus One

if you are confused about which phone suits you best, this is chart is exactly what you need.

Yesterday, we presented you a side by side specs comparison of the top smart phones on the market. At that time, Google’s Nexus One specs were only based on some leaks, but today was the big day, when Google finally had the conference and presented their baby. ( as a side info, the conference was boring, couldn’t even watch the live stream. The phone is a cool phone, i want one sure, but not impressive at all. I expected more from Google ). Anyway, if you are confused about which phone suits you best, this is chart is exactly what you need.

Side By Side Specs: iPhone, Nexus One and Motorola Droid

Ever since the iPhone crushed all the dreams in the industry, all you can hear is about the (next) “iPhone killer” . There was the Palm Pre which died before its time. They tried to spice things up with Palm Pixi but, they kinda went backwards. At the moment the iPhone has two real competitors : Motorola Droid and Google’s Nexus One. The real real hype is built around the Nexus One , and since the specs of the phone are leaked, the dudes at iSmahphone created a full spec list of the phones. This list speaks for itself, but it makes me really curious about the next gen iPhone. Uncle Steve, will you bring us something suitable for 2011 and beyond?

Speed Test Video: iPhone 3G vs iPhone 3Gs vs Palm Pre

A “real world” video comparison of the new iPhone 3Gs vs iPhone 3G vs Palm Pre. Testing the boot time, web browser speeds, and the time it takes to snap a photo.

Some of the hottest phones around right now : the iPhone and the Palm Pre. There was a lot of buzz around the Palm Pre, everybody said it’s the iPhone killer and so on, the usual… Myself, would like to have one ( Palm Pre ), would love to get that background apps feature that Palm’s OS got, but pretty much thats it. More excited by the background apps than the actual phone.

CNet has done a video ‘real world’ speed test comparison of the iPhone 3G S versus the Palm Pre versus the iPhone 3G.
They tested the boot time, web browser speeds, and the time it takes to snap a photo.

Angelina Jolie: Palm Pre Is Better Than The iPhone

Right from the beginning, Palm Pre was considered an iPhone competitor. It was not even released yet and celebrities thinks its a better phone that the iPhone

Right from the beginning, Palm Pre was considered an iPhone competitor – and that’s somewhat logical, since the new smartphone has both loads of style and a myriad of advanced features. Now it looks like Angelina Jolie already owns a Palm Pre, and, surprise, she says she likes it better than the iPhone.

According to Examiner, the famous actress talked about the Pre while filming Salt, a new movie due in theaters in 2010. Reportedly, one of Salt’s production assistants said about Jolie:

I asked her how she likes the phone. She went on about it for about two minutes. She basically said she likes the software better than the iPhone, she likes the thumboard for texting (although the keys aren’t big enough), and thinks the screen is beautiful but can be too easily scratched.

It’s not clear yet how Angelina Jolie managed to get a Palm Pre, or if she actually has one. Anyway, I guess that when you’re a diva you have some privileges. As for the release of Palm Pre, neither Sprint nor Palm gave any exact date for it, but the smartphone might be available starting May.

Did Apple Learn Something From Competitors in FW 3.0 ?

preiphone

The new iPhone FW 3.o will be revelead tommorow. Suddently it doesent feel like Apple keynotes used to feel like. Is it just me? That question has no relevance what so ever. The real important question is the one presented in the title : Did Apple Learn Something From Palm’s Pre WebOS in FW 3.0 ?

Now , in the last month or so, i had the pleasure to participate in some moronic conversations via email and twitter with some, with all the respect , some even more moronic people , regarding my disire for some features that Palm’s Pre WebOS got and my beloved iPhone is …. ( silence too is an answer ).

Don’t get me wrong, i love my iPhone, but no matter if you got the best product in the world, at some point, somebody or something will be even better. So , since tommorow Apple will anounce the new iPhone 3.0 FW , let’s see what and if Apple learned something from their competitors. ( also see Kevin Rose confirming copy-paste in FW 3.o here )
