First Look At Opera Mini For The iPhone [video]

As you know, Opera Mini was approved into the app store, and by the time you will be reading this, it will be available in all regional app stores. Here’s a first look at Opera Mini for the iPhone

As you know, Opera Mini was approved into the app store, and by the time you will be reading this, it will be available in all regional app stores. We didn’t have too much time to play with it, but we can tell you that is fast ( probably not 6x faster ) as they promised. We got a few rendering problems, and twice we got a server error. Remember that all the data goes to their servers first, and then the browser is pulling all the info. It seems that 3rd party plugins like iMobileCinema and the download manager are not compatible with Opera Mini ( we could be wrong, and if we are, we will keep you update via a new article ). Other than that, it is pretty much what we expected, and i made it my default browser. I can’t decide if i like it or not in half an hour….

Opera Mini For iPhone Accepted In The App Store. Available Within 24 Hours…

After a couple of months, Apple accepted the app and it will be available within 24 hours…

We talked about Opera Mini ever since it was a rumor. In fact, i think we were the first ones to write about it. We told you that is 6x faster than MobileSafari, we told you when the app was submitted to the app store, and we even showed you a video battle between the two browser. After a couple of months, Apple accepted the app and it will be available within 24 hours…

TechCrunch reports that earlier today, Opera disclosed that it now counts over 100 million users, about half of which are using its mobile browser products. The company also offers Opera Mini 5 beta for Android phones.

Opera Mini For iPhone Is 6 Times Faster Than Safari And Should Be Accepted By Apple

The team behind Opera Mini studies the SDK and created a bypass for all the restrictions imposed by Apple, so theoretically it should be accepted into the AppStore without any problems.

A week ago we broke the news about Opera Mini coming to the iPhone. Unfortunately there is no video of the browser in action but tests performed at MWC 2010 in Barcelona proved that is 6 times faster than MobileSafari – the native iPhone browser – and the guys at Opera will send the app to Apple for review really soon.
