Nine Inch Nails frontman Trent Reznor paid tribute to a friend, battling terminal cancer, during a show in Las Vegas last weekend. Trent took his iPhone 5S and initiated a FaceTime call with photojournalist Andrew Youssef on stage during the show.

iPhoneography: Rolling Shutter Effect On Airplane Propellers

There’s a lot of video and photo apps that you can use to pimp up your iPhone pics, but it turns out that you can achieve great effects just by pointing a cellphone camera at a fast moving object, in this case , airplane propellers. The effect you see in the pics above is known as ‘rolling shutter’.

In the early 20th century, the photograph still seemed new. The German intellectual Walter Benjamin tried to understand how photography changed art: it replaced the “aura” of the masterpiece with a new, democratic way of making pictures. Going on for a century later, we’re living in the midst of a technological revolution that has left photography itself behind. Latest trend: iPhoneography.

Trent Reznor Response To Apple For Rejecting NIN iPhone App Update

Although i like some of the Nine Inch Nails songs, i cant say i am a fan of the group. But i am a fan of their way of thinking, how they approach the industry, and of all their actions towards the idea of ” ok, how should we run OUR business”.

As you know, Apple rejected the Nine Inch Nails iPhone app update because it contains objectionable content. The objectionable content referenced is ‘The Downward Spiral’.” (’The Downward Spiral’ is a 1994 album that laces a touch of earthy nihilism into a musical screwdriver of heavy psychological meltdown.)

Trent Reznor posted on the NIN forum , the email they got from Apple , but he didnt stopped there; he also posted his take on the situation. I will not continue to debate on the matter, because you pretty much can see it for yourself; but i would love to know what you think.

Since Nine Inch Nails released their own extremly badass iPhone app, seems that more bands are getting into the iPhone apps world.Linkin Park will soon be launching their own iPhone App/Game for all the Linkin Park Fans.

Since Nine Inch Nails released their own extremly badass iPhone app, seems that more bands are getting into the iPhone apps world.Linkin Park will soon be launching their own iPhone App/Game for all the Linkin Park Fans. The deal has been signed between Warner Bros Records and Artificial Life to create series of iPhone applications dedicated to Linkin Park. We can expect An App that will move around keeping up with the bands activites,community,music..etc. The Menu may have buttons such as Home-band-Fans-Shop-Community etc..
