iPhone DevTeam Updates Ultrasn0w To v1.1-1

If you unlocked your iPhone using ultrasn0w 1.1. you might have noticed that your battery drains out pretty quickly. They tweaked a few things and this update suppose to fix that issue. You can update ultrasn0w via Cydia.

HOW TO: Unlock iPhone 3G/3Gs And iPhone 4 With Ultrasn0w

YES! iPhone 4 unlock is finally here. The iPhone DevTeam just released their new version of ultrasn0w which will unlock your iPhone 3G/3Gs and iPhone 4.

YES! iPhone 4 unlock is finally here. The iPhone DevTeam just released their new version of ultrasn0w which will unlock your iPhone 3G/3Gs and iPhone 4.

NOTE:

  • T-Mobile USA uses different 3G freq than Apple “says” it supports. So you won’t get 3G , just EDGE.
  • Most T-Mobile users in the USA using the iphone4 after tonight will need to disable 3G mode in Settings->General->Network
  • For those who hand-cut your T-Mobile SIMs and still see “No SIM”, just be patient. Reposition it in the tray & try again

NOTE: probably most of you will need to convert their SIM into a microSIM. Nothing to fear about. Read about microSIMs here, and here’s a great tutorial on how to do it.

Sending SMS Messages From An iPad 3G [video]

We told you that the iPad 3G is as hackable as the Wifi iPad, and now we will show you that is possible to send SMS messages from iPad 3G through its baseband (no GUI).

The SMS messages were sent using a raw AT+CMGS command sent to the iPad baseband. That’s because so far, iPhone’s MobileSMS.app doesn’t run properly on the iPad.

Of course, you will need a SIM with SMS plan, and the iPad in the vid above uses a T-Mobile SIM cut down into a microSIM size. The AT&T plan attached to the SIM that came with the iPad isn’t allowing SMS messages….

What Is A Micro SIM And If The iPad Is Using It, Will iPhone 4G Get It Too?

Micro SIMs or 3FF SIMs were developed by the European Telecommunications Standards Institute to fit into devices too small for a regular SIM. Where a regular SIM measures 15 millimeters x 25 mm, a 3FF SIM card measures 12mm x 15mm.

In our previous article, we mentioned the micro SIM , and many of you asked all sorts of questions about it. Basically, to resume all the emails, i can break it down into 2 questions:

  1. What the hell is this Micro SIM?
