Already Missing RockApp? Get It Back And All Your Package Licenses…

This is the case of one of our readers, Matthew McMahon, which found himself without a iBlacklist license today. Hear him out, and if you’re in the same position as he was, here’s what you have to do ( at least until Cydia gets updated… )

As you know today’s RockApp update announced that the app is officially out of business. Some of you were happy to hear the news, and some of you, not so much. This is the case of one of our readers, Matthew McMahon, which found himself without a iBlacklist license today. Hear him out, and if you’re in the same position as he was, here’s what you have to do ( at least until Cydia gets updated… )

Well, the Cydia / Rock App merger seems to be moving full steam ahead.  In fact, if you “upgrade” your Rock App through Cydia, you’ll find that your Rock App has been completely gimped.  You can’t install apps anymore, download license… nothing.  It’s useless.  But this is old news; FSM has already reported this.

RockApp Officially Terminated

Starting today, RockApp is officially terminated, the app will no longer be updated and you cannot login anymore.

Almost two weeks ago, we reported that Cydia bought Rock Your Phone, or better said SaurikIT, LLC acquired Rock Your Phone, Inc. Starting today, RockApp is officially terminated, the app will no longer be updated and you cannot login anymore. From now on, we should only expect new Cydia improvements and updates.

Exciting Times Ahead: Cydia Acquires RockApp

Some of you love RockApp and some of you hate it. Some of you hate that some apps in Cydia come with that annoying RockApp dependency. Well, you don’t need to worry about that anymore because Cydia acquired RockApp, and here’s the story as related by modmyi:

It’s been a year and a half since Rock Your Phone first made live their Rock.app store for 3rd party iPhone apps. Over the past few months, the folks who own both stores (Jay Freeman and Mario Ciabarra) have been working through a huge deal, which has come to public fruition tonight – Cydia is acquiring Rock. Well, technically, SaurikIT, LLC is acquiring Rock Your Phone, Inc (let’s use correct business names here).
