Legendary Apple designer Sir Jonathan Ive is rumored to be designing a limited edition Leica camera.

Legendary Apple designer Sir Jonathan Ive is rumored to be designing a limited edition Leica camera. According to PetaPixel, Dr. Andreas Kaufmann, president of the German camera maker, said at a special event this week that a limited version of the new Leica M will be in fact crafted by the storied designer and then put up for auction.

Jonathan Ive Awarded Knighthood In UK

With Apple having had a year full of many now-accustomed triumphs, amidst mourning the loss of its legendary frontman Steve Jobs, the multinational corporation now has yet another proud moment to relish. The company’s Senior Vice President of Design, Jonathan Ive, was recently awarded knighthood in his native United Kingdom. Ive’s officially awarded title is that of Knight Commander of the British Empire, leading the way among the 2012 New Year Honours List. The design wizard behind the iPod, iPad, iMac and iPhone continues to add to his already impressive list of accolades, which will surely carry forward throughout the upcoming years.

Jony Ive’s Tribute to Steve Jobs [video]

Watch Jony Ive’s , Senior Vice President of Industrial Design at Apple Inc., tribute to Steve Jobs

A couple of days ago, Apple posted the full video of their celebration of Steve Jobs’ life. The event, which lasted about 90 minutes, was held to commemorate Mr. Jobs, who died this month after battling pancreatic cancer.
