Apple Updates Frontpage With 50 Billion App Downloads Countdown

Apple has updated their frontpage with a countdown to 50 billion app downloads from the App Store.

Today, Apple has updated their frontpage with a countdown to 50 billion app downloads from the App Store. The countdown was launched last week, when Apple announced that they will give away a $10,000 App Store gift card to the person who downloads the landmark app. In addition to the $10,000 gift card for the 50 billionth app download, Apple will also award a $500 App Store Gift Card to the next 50 customers following the momentous download.

App Store Instant: Just Like Google Instant But For The App Store

Just a quick heads-up. A new site has emerged on the www, called App Store Instant. This site allows you to search the app store in the same manner Google displays search results right now.

The search engine, will display various apps with each letter you type until it finds the app you are looking for.

Apple Removes ‘Explicit’ App Category From iTunes

Last night Apple added an ‘explicit’ app category in iTunes Connect, and the thought was that, it would be a new category above and beyond the 17+ rating. Well, surprise, surprise… Apple already removed it.

Apple Adding An ‘Explicit’ Category To The App Store

In the past few days, Apple blocked a few ‘overtly sexual’ apps from app store. You know, the same old story. The app was accepted, then they realized that you can see an ankle somewhere.

In the past few days, Apple blocked a few ‘overtly sexual’ apps from app store. You know, the same old story. The app was accepted, then they realized that you can see an ankle somewhere.

While this actions are welcomed by some puritans, others believe that Steve Jobs conspires with the Vatican and they are claiming Apple is being hypocritical for allowing Playboy and Sports Illustrated’s swimsuit issue to remain on the App Store, while similar (and, in some cases, even less “overtly sexual”) apps are being banned.

Apple is surveying iPhone developers asking them about their experience with the program. They sent out a long survey to developers, covering a range of things, but the predominant questions are about the app review process and how happy are the developers with Apple’s program.

Apple asks you to answer with: “Very dissatisfied,” “Somewhat dissatisfied,” “Neither satisfied nor dissatisfied,” “Somewhat satisfied,” “Very satisfied,” or “Don’t know.” They also ask, “What one thing could Apple do to make the iPhone Developer Program better?” and give you a text box to write anything you want.
