Apple Releases iTunes 12.5.1

itunes 12.5.1 now available

Apple released today iTunes 12.5.1, introducing a new Apple Music design. The updates is available for both OS X El Capitan users and macOS Sierra users but includes Sierra-specific features, including support for Siri and support for Picture-in-Picture. You can download iTunes 12.5.1 right now from the Mac App Store.

Now with an all-new Apple Music design which brings greater clarity and simplicity to every aspect of the experience.

This update includes support for iOS 10. It also adds enhancements designed for macOS Sierra including:

– Siri. Play music from your Library and Apple Music using your voice. Just ask Siri.
– Picture-in-Picture. Watch videos as you multitask and use different apps. Your video floats above your desktop in any corner of the screen.

Apple has released an updated version of iTunes, v12.2.1, to address issues with Apple Music, Beats 1 radio and iTunes Match.

Apple has released an updated version of iTunes, v12.2.1, to address issues with Apple Music, Beats 1 radio and iTunes Match. Mac users can update iTunes via the updates tab in the Mac App Store, while Windows users can download the new version here. Check out the release notes for this update below

This update addresses the following problems when using iTunes Match or Apple Music:

• Fixes an issue for iTunes Match where iTunes incorrectly changed some songs from Matched to Apple Music.
• Provides a way to correct a library problem affecting former iTunes Match subscribers.
• Includes minor bug fixes and improvements for Beats 1.

Apple pushed the first major update to iTunes 12, that comes with a new iTunes widget for the Notification Center and performance improvements when syncing and iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch. With the new NC widget ( only available in OS X Yosemite ) it’s possible to see what song you’re paying, skip ahead and favorite. If you’re listening to iTunes Radio, there’s an option to purchase the song that’s being played, right from within the widget. iTunes can be update via the Software Update Mechanism in the Mac App Store.

Just a quick heads-up: Apple just dropped iTunes 11.4 which comes with support for iOS 8. With the GM seed of the iOS released to developers today, Apple will release iOS 8 to the public next week on September 17th.

If you’re jailbreaking your devices, it goes without saying that you should stay away from any beta releases ( GM included ) and even the final version. Updating to iOS 8 when it comes out will result in loosing the ability to jailbreak.

U2’s New Album “Songs of Innocence” Is Available For Free in iTunes

Remember last year when Jay Z made a deal with Samsung that resulted in instant platinum for “Magna Carta Holy Grail”. Well the same thing happened today with Apple and U2. In a poorly choreographed moment that went back and forth way too long, U2 announced that its new album “Songs of Innocence” for free to every single iTunes customer. The RIAA changed the Gold and Platinum rules because of Jay Z anyway, everything was so fucking fake. Ironically, the stream went flawless during U2’s performance. Now this is a beautiful concept. Honolulu-based designer Brye Kobayashi released a new iTunes concept in which he aims to fix a few UI issues that Apple seems to have overlooked. For example, the drop down menu to switch the libraries is confusing and adds another unnecessary step. Multiple scrolling lists and small banners overwhelm the experience. Home page is cluttered with random assortment of media. Brye aims to fix all these issues and more with his concept, and to be honest, I wish Apple would pay attention to his work and, at least, take it as a stencil for iTunes 12.

The movie is an adaptation of Grant Morrison and Andy Kubert’s 2006 Batman and Son storyline and introduces the character of Damien Wayne, the son of Bruce Wayne and Talia, the daughter of one of his greatest enemies, Ras Al Ghul.

Taking place at ACL Live at the Moody Theater, home of Austin City Limits, the iTunes Festival at SXSW will feature iTunes chart toppers including Coldplay, Imagine Dragons, Pitbull, Keith Urban, ZEDD and more to come. All five nights of the iTunes Festival will be available to enjoy for free as a live and on-demand stream via the iTunes Store on your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Mac or PC.
