Mac App Store Bug Allows Free Upgrading Of Illegal and Trial Software

a bug in the Mac App Store allows users with trial and illegal ( downloaded from various sources for free ) copies to update to the latest version of the software for free.

Apple has been very generous this quarter: OS X Mavericks was released as a free download/update to all Mac users and iWork and iLife suites are now available as free updates ( and also free downloads to anyone that bought a Mac after October 1st ). However, a bug in the Mac App Store allows users with trial and illegal ( downloaded from various sources for free ) copies to update to the latest version of the software for free.

During today’s keynote, Apple has announced a redesigned and refreshed iLife suite ( iPhoto, iMovie and Garage Band )

During today’s keynote, Apple has announced a redesigned and refreshed iLife suite ( iPhoto, iMovie and Garage Band ). The new iLife suite comes with new features for both iOS 7 and OS X 10.9 Mavericks. iLife for both iOS and Mac is now available for free with the purchase of any new iMac or iOS device and they will be made available today.

Apple Gives iTunes Credit To New Customers Who Purchased iWork, iMovie or iPhoto After September 1

Apple today began sending out emails with iTunes credits to users who purchased both new iOS devices and one or more of the now-free iOS apps prior to its September 10 announcement.

During its September iPhone media event, Apple announced they will make their iWork suite ( Keynote, Pages, Numbers ), iPhoto and iMovie free with the purchase of any new device. Apple has released a digital camera RAW compatibility update adding support for 13 more cameras. The update adds RAW image compatibility for the following cameras to Aperture 3 and iPhoto ’11: Canon EOS-1D C, Canon EOS Rebel SL1 / 100D / Kiss X7, Canon EOS Rebel T5i / 700D / Kiss X7i, Hasselblad Lunar, Nikon COOLPIX A, Nikon D7100, Nikon 1 J3, Nikon 1 S1, Sony Alpha NEX-3N.

The Camera Raw 4.06 update is available by selecting Software Update from your Apple Menu.

A few days ago, plamoni’s released Siri Proxy , a proxy server which allows developers to easily add functionality to Siri. Siri Proxy works by using a fake local DNS registry for guzzoni.apple.com – the servers that run Siri. In just a few day, developers all over the world have created some amazing plugins for Siri Proxy ( controlling your car, appleTV, thermostat etc ) and you can watch them all in action here.

Apple Updates iPhoto With iCloud, iOS5 And Photostream Support

Photo 9.2 supports compatibility with iCloud and iOS 5. This update also addresses minor stability, performance and compatibility issues

Apple has updated iPhoto to v9.2 with iCloud and iOS5 and Photo Stream compatibility. iPhoto 9.2 supports compatibility with iCloud and iOS 5. This update also addresses minor stability, performance and compatibility issues, including:

• Left and right swipe gestures can now be used to navigate between photos in Magnify (1-up) view
• Previously imported photos are now displayed in a separate section of the Import window
• Book/calendar themes and card categories can now be selected using a pop-up menu in the carousel view
• Resolves an issue that could cause some pages of books to print incorrectly
• Rebuilding a library now correctly preserves saved slideshows and books

NOTE: This update is recommended for all users of iPhoto ’11.
