About one year ago i got Justin Bua’s ‘1981’ iPhone Skin from GelaSkin. I paid $14.95 ( including shipping in Europe ) , and it got here in only 2 days. Now if you are a Lady Gaga fan, you can buy the official iPhone 3G and iPhone 3Gs skin for the obnoxious price of $35 + shipping at the official store. Great, now moving on….
How to manually create customs iPhone ringtones, or use web apps or even software. Your choice, it’s all here.
I got a lot of emails from you guys and lovely girls asking me how to create some custom ringtones for the iPhone. Everybody has a favorite song, and to listen to a snippet of that song every time your iPhone rings its nothing but pure pleasure as far as i am concerned ( even if the person who calls you its not 😛 ).
So, in this post, pretty much we will take a look at various methods to create ringtones. iTunes might be the most popular because you already have it installed, but we will take a look at some webapps , and some software as well. I will give you some links from you can download ringtones for your iPhone as well. So lets get started…
We all feel the need to protect , in some way or another , this beautiful jewel called iPhone right? So far i had a black silicon case from macally which sucks big time. It sucks because a case, any case takes all the sexiness of the device and didnt matter i had my phone in the case and always alone in one pocked ( no keys, ciggs, lighter with it in the pocket ) , the phone got really really dirty on the back. Ohh and the case got bigger for some reason, and the cam was never on the whole. Half of the cam was always covered by the case.
So i decide to order myself a skin. I really dont need a case to protect my phone ( but hey, thats me ) and all i want to protect it from is finger prints and scratches. So , like i said i ordered myself a Justin Bua – 1981 skin from GelaSkins
I place the order, i paid $14.95 including shipping ( dont really know if Canadian dollars or US dollars ) via paypal and normally i had to wait 15 business days for it to arrive. Had a big surprise today when i got the envelope containing the skin in the mail. I ordered it 2 days ago! If you wonder why i am so happy about the 2 days arrival, well… i live in Europe and the skin was sent from Canada. I think there’s 2 or 3 customs on its way here, and our postal service really sucks on international shipping so…. you bet your ass i cant believe that i got it in just 2 days.
The quality of the skins is impeccable and you can remove it with no fear. And apply it again. Trust me i removed it like 4 times and got it back on. I really couldnt get the corners right though and it really bothers me. But everything else is real nice, and i love how my phone looks and feels right now.
By the way: If you dont know who Justin Bua is, let me introduce him to you. Justin Bua is an artist from New York City’s Upper West Side, raised between Manhattan and East Flatbush, Brooklyn. BUA was fascinated by the raw, visceral street life of the city. He attended the Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music and Performing Arts and complemented his education on the streets by writing graffiti and performing worldwide with breakdancing crews. BUA went on to the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California where he earned a B.F.A in Illustration.
If you are fascinated by art, or HipHop culture ( culture , not music. dont care what anybody says: HipHop music DOES NOT exist ) you should really consider buy his book : The Beat Of Urban Art – The Art of Justin Bua . I got it from ebay, from A1Books brand new and much much cheaper that the one on Justin’s site. Be creative, find your way.
Disclaimer: i was not paid by anybody ( Justin Bua, A1Books, Macally, GelaSkins ) for this article. This is based on my opinions, and i felt the need to inform you about this things.
March 17th – remember that date. New iPhone OS is comming out. There are some rumours that iPhone OS 3.0 will allow background apps but there’s no point on jumping to conclusions.
I cant wait to see if Apple learned anything from Palm Pre’s OS in the new OS 3.0 or they will wait untill the new iPhone will come out. Either way , i got a feeling that the new iPhone will be , still, a big dissapointment and Apple wont fix some of the issues and missing features that iPhone users crave for since the 1st gen came out.
We just have to wait and see….
Original iPhone owners who prefer not to give away or sell their old iPhones after upgrading to an iPhone 3G can instead keep their devices and use them as WiFi-enabled iPods, AT&T has confirmed.
The exclusive US provider for the Apple handset issued a series of documents and videos this week instructing existing iPhone owners on the steps necessary to hand down their old phones to family members or friends after purchasing a new 3G model.
Although that’s the route AT&T prefers, as it generates high margin service revenues for each additional iPhone on its network, it’s not the only option owners have.
A spokesperson for the carrier confirmed to AppleInsider that neither AT&T nor Apple will prevent de-activated first-generation iPhones for serving as surrogate iPod touches.
“If the [original] device is not re-activated as a wireless phone after you’ve upgraded to iPhone 3G, it will still work as an iTunes player and can access Wi-Fi,” the spokesperson said.
That means old iPhones can still surf the web, check email, and browse the mobile iTunes store when connected to WiFi. Additionally, they’ll be able to function as a handheld gaming device and widescreen video iPod with calendar and photo functions.
It’s recommended that owners who take this approach upgrade their original iPhones with iPhone Software v2.0 (which includes the App Store) on July 11th prior to de-activating the devices, as it’s unclear whether upgrades to non-active handsets will be possible.
