Rackspace’s iPhone Developer Talking About The iPad SDK

According to Mayo, the new iPad SDK is similar to the iPhone’s. The only difference is the new user interface features associated with the iPad because of the greater amount of screen real estate

A few days ago we took a first look at the iPad Simulator and discovered that even though the iPad lacks a cam, the interface for one is implemented in the SDK. The iPad is a device which was way too anticipated , and because of all the rumors – the endless obnoxious ubiquitous rumors – everybody was pretty much disappointed when Steve Jobs unveiled his latest creation.

Apple Released iPhone SDK 3.1.3

If you are a developer on the other hand, it is time to update your SDK , because Apple just released iPhone SDK 3.1.3.

We just reported that Apple made available firmware 3.1.3 , but if you are using a jailbroken/unlocked iDevice , DO NOT update ( we are serious. NONE of the tools work with the new FW ). If you are a developer on the other hand, it is time to update your SDK , because Apple just released iPhone SDK 3.1.3.

The new SDK contains the usual Xcode, iPhone simulator, and various tools for developing applications for iPhone and iPod touch. If you want to develop for the iPad instead, you will need to join a $99/year program and download SDK 3.2

iPad is a bit more than an iTouch, and it is working with almost all of the apps in the appstore , straight out of the box.  Our developer friends reported some changes in the new SDK such as a new media player and quartz core framework

iPhone OS 4.0 Beta Can Be Released In The Same Day As The Apple Tablet

According to the report, the SDK will include a “simulator” to assist developers in adapting their existing App Store applications to support the tablet’s screen resolution. The deployment of tools for supporting multiple screen resolutions could also pave the way for a higher-resolution iPhone in the future.

MacRumors is catching up with the french site Mac4Ever , who briefly speculates that Apple will release the iPhone OS 4.0 associated with the iPhone SDK , in the same day that they will release the much much, omg enough is enough, anticipated Apple Tablet. Currently the software is in Alpha state (a111.2) but the download is not public. You must send an email to the developer to join the beta-tester program. You can check the site here, but keep it mind that this is certainly not something recommended by FSMdotCOM and this could easily be another fake.

WWDC09: Disappointment. iPhone 3GS and iPhone OS 3.0

First day of WWDC 09 just wrapped up. Big disappointment. We get a new iPhone 3GS which is really disappointing and the new iPhone OS 3.0 which mi love long time.

First day of WWDC09  is over. We all waited this day , and we waited for some new exciting iPhone news. The keynote was pretty boring and disappointing. They presented the iPhone OS 3.0 which was really boring because they pretty much said everything they said before, and on the hardware part…. ohh man…. that is dissapointing: same look, VGA camera and pretty much not really worth upgrading. For all of you US users, AT&T is pretty lame and its screwing with your emotions. iPhone OS 3.0 brings us MMS, but you wont be able to use it till later this summer.

iPhone Web Development or SDK?

Learn about some hidden features of iPhone programming

There are two distinct ways to develop applications for Apple’s iPhone, the top tech gadget of the year.Programmers can choose to create optimized web applications using web languages, or to write native programs using the iPhone SDK. Rather than seeing this as an either-or proposition, developers should consider the choice a continuum and pick the right tool to create each individual program.

With iPhone web applications, programmers can enjoy all the advantages of the Internet, including ease of development and deployment, speed of updating, and off-line server access. Meanwhile, with iPhone native applications, programmers can immerse themselves in a sophisticated development environment, dig deep into an object-oriented language, and access the iPhone’s built-in utilities, like its accelerometers and its GPS.

This session highlights the advantages and disadvantages of each style of programming and discuss ways to hybridize them, creating integrated projects that utilize the best of both worlds.
