Simple and easy way to save game progress before a update or restore of firmware
Since we posted custom firmware 3.1 links for iPhone 2G/3G and iTouch and also for iPhone 3Gs and iTouch 2G , we got a lot of emails asking us how they can save games progress before they restore their devices.
Fair question, no doubt, but i didnt know the answer since i dont really play games and pretty much dont care if i loose the progress or not. I am not as self-centered as you might think, and i did a little bit of research. Turns out it’s quite easy to do.

EAMobile announced the arrival of Need for Speed Shift for the iPhone. Unlike Need for Speed Undercover, that is already an store applications, this new title promises a true simulation of motor racing and will not, therefore, the usual arcade racer.

A new piece of software could transform the iPhone into a much more adept gaming device.
The new software is a tool called Onyx Online and is free. Onyx Online was developed by Steve Demeter, the same developer who created the popular and profitable Trism for the iPhone. Game makers and developers who choose to embed Onyx in their creation get a host of social networking features already added. Just a few of which include leaderboards, achievements and forums. What’s more is that iPhone owners playing Onyx Online embedded games would be able to view each other’s profiles, compare scores and see what games everyone else is playing.
