Popular iOS jailbreak tweak LockInfo, has been updated to bring full iOS 8 support. If you’re not familiar with the tweak, LockInfo allows you to get all of your notifications and widgets on your lockscreen, interact with your notifications by using select and swipe actions, and it also comes with an email and calendar event viewer so you can see your emails and calendar events right from your lockscreen.

LockInfo 8 is available right now in Cydia’s ModMyi repository for $4.99 with a 14-day free trial. If you already own LockInfo, the tweak is available for upgrade for only $1.99.

It’s just a matter of seconds until your friend is scrolling through your photos. Happily, iOS 6 or later has a feature that can help: Guided Access. All you have to do, once you’ve configured it, is to triple-click the Home button as you pass your iPhone to your friend – an action so subtle that they might not even realise you’re doing it (until they try and fail to swipe and find photos of your damp patches, as it were). Apple To Releases iOS 8.1 On Monday, With Apple Pay and Continuity Support

Craig Federighi, Apple’s senior VP of software engineering, has just announced that iOS 8.1 is coming next Monday

Craig Federighi, Apple’s senior VP of software engineering, has just announced that iOS 8.1 is coming next Monday, and will bring Apple Pay compatibility in tow for the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus. It’ll also bring back the Camera Roll, which should be good news for iPhone users who miss that feature when it was taken away before. Additionally, those who update to the new firmware will get access to the public beta of iCloud Photo Library, which gives you the ability to access the full resolution of all your photos and videos without any downscaling.

Apple Releases iOS 8.0.1

Just one week after iOS 8 was launched, Apple releases its first update – iOS 8.0.1. The new updated fixes a number of bugs including an issue that caused custom keyboards to become deselected after entering a passcode, an issue that prevented HealthKit apps from working correctly, it improves Reacability on the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, fixes a bug that disabled file uploads in Safari, and brings better support for the Ask to Buy feature in Family Sharing.

Just a quick heads-up: Apple just dropped iTunes 11.4 which comes with support for iOS 8With the GM seed of the iOS released to developers today, Apple will release iOS 8 to the public next week on September 17th.

If you’re jailbreaking your devices, it goes without saying that you should stay away from any beta releases ( GM included ) and even the final version. Updating to iOS 8 when it comes out will result in loosing the ability to jailbreak.

With new iPhones comes new software, so with the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus going on sale soon iOS 8 should be on its way too.

With new iPhones comes new software, so with the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus going on sale soon iOS 8 should be on its way too. Apple confirmed that the next-fen iOS will arrive next week, on September 17th, as a free download. In case you’re wondering, iOS 8 will be able to run on:

  • iPhone 4s and up
  • iPad 2 and up
  • Fifth-gen iPod Touch

The iOS has not been changed much since we last seen it at WWDC back in June ( and you can read about it here ), but it will include Apple Pay – a new feature that allows iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus users to make payments via NFC.

Where To Watch Today’s Apple Special Media Event

In case you want to watch today’s Apple special media event, you’re in luck. If you own an Apple TV, Apple has once again made its “Apple Events” channel available on the Apple TV.. If you don’t own an Apple TV, you can watch the keynote on Apple’s website. Users will need Safari on Mac/iOS and QuickTime on Windows in order to watch the stream.

Apple is expected to unveil the 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch iPhone 6 alongside the iWatch, and will likely provide updates on iOS 8 and OS X Yosemite

Apple’s keynote kicks off at 10:00 AM Pacific Time.
