With iOS 7.1, Apple has patched the exploits used by evasion7 and currently there is no word on a public release for an iOS 7.1+ jailbreak. However, that doesn’t mean that iOS 7.1+ can’t be jailbroken. Just today, i0n1c posted a photo of an iPhone 5c running iOS 7.1.1 with Cydia loaded on it and if you jump over the break, you can check out a video from winocm showing off an untethered jailbreak with Cyda loaded on an iPhone 4 running iOS 7.1.1. Again, there is no word on when an update jailbreak will be released, if any… Don’t believe the hype, and try your luck with random sources and most definitely do not pay for a jailbreak. IF an official iOS 7.1+ jailbreak will be released, we will let you know. Stay tuned….

iOS hacker winocm posted a video to demo an untethered iOS 7.1 boot running on an iPhone 4. The devices boots up in verbose mode, and win com shows a few iOS 7.1 UI elements and the build number in the Settings application. However, Cydia doesn’t run on the device. NOTE: this is not an iOS 7.1 jailbreak. Most probably is just root access.

Jump over the break to check out the video…

iOS 7.1 Beta 4 Patches The evasi0n7 Jailbreak

If we got lucky the last time and evasion7 could jailbreak iOS 7.1 beta 3 , that doesn’t mean Apple is sleeping when it comes to jailbreaking their iOS

If we got lucky the last time and evasion7 could jailbreak iOS 7.1 beta 3 , that doesn’t mean Apple is sleeping when it comes to jailbreaking their iOS.  According to iH8sn0w the newly released iOS 7.1 beta 4 patches the kernel exploit used by the evasi0n jailbreak. However, and iOS 7.1 jailbreak is not out of the question since we don’t know what alternatives the evad3rs team can come up with. Besides, most probably the evasi0n7 tool was updated with iOS 7.1 beta 3 support and released to the public only because an unknown author has released a ‘cooked’ version of the tool to support the beta.

There are still a couple of beta releases to go before Apple releases iOS 7.1 to the public so be patient and don’t forget the golden rule: stay away from that firmware update button.
