We have no idea if it’s a tethered/untethered jailbreak and the exploit will probably not be released until the iPad 3 is jailbroken as well, but these are all assumptions. Apple added Japanese support for Siri in its most recent software update, iOS 5.1, but it appears that the voice-activated assistant doesn’t perform as well as competing service Shabette Concier from NTT Docomo. This video pits the two head-to-head and finds that Siri has a couple of important shortcomings. Noticeably, its language processing doesn’t seem to handle colloquial speech as well as Shabette Concier and there isn’t support for maps or location lookup for restaurants and hospitals yet.

On March 7th, Apple has rolled out iOS 5.1. Turns out that, for non-A5 devices redsn0w can already jailbreak ( tethered ) the new iOS, and iH8sn0w has released an updated version of sn0wbreeze to support it. Unfortunately, there are some problems with ultrasn0w, but today we have a workaround until the iPhone DevTeam updates the official package to fully support iOS 5.1
