Messages For Mac Lets You Send Any File Format To iOS Devices [video]

A couple of days ago, Apple has released Messages for Mac in beta state. Messages for Mac will be included in OS X Mountain Lion this summer  and does everything iChat does, and so much more. For starters, it comes with iMessage. And just like iMessage in iOS, it lets you send unlimited messages to anyone on a Mac or an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch running iOS 5. Send photos, videos, documents, and contacts — even send messages to a group.

But that’s not all that it does. The beta version also allows you to send any file formats to your iOS devices including .mp3, .pdf, .txt, .sh, .deb, .ipa, .exe, .app, .rar, .tar, .7z, and .zip.

New Apple Patents: iPhone IM Chat And Auto Adjusted Volume Control

Yesterday, the US Patent & Trademark Office published some sixteen Apple patents, some through the names of their own engineers. Amongst these patents were two very cool ideas in respect to a signet based security system and a new way to control some iPhone features like voicemail through simple finger swiping motions across the backside camera.

New day, new Apple patent: IM Chat. The patent shows that Apple wants to implement a new iPhone application dedicated to instant messaging. The interface will be similar to the one of messaging.app but we don’t know which services will be supported. It will probably be an optimized version of iChat.
