InstallerApp: Manage Cydia and Installer From Your Mac

installerapp-bigA few weeks ago, FSMdotCOM presented you Cyder , a windows software which you can use to manage everything in Cydia straight from your Windows Machine. Now it’s time for a Mac application.InstallerApp is a native Mac OS X application (soon — for Windows too) that allows you easily download applications from Installer and Cydia directly onto your computer, and install them to the iPhone connected with USB cable.

Support for Both Installing Solutions

Now you don’t have to make a choice between alternative installers, you can get the best of both worlds, Installer and Cydia — InstallerApp supports both!

Fast Packages Restore

If you ever had to wait on a new iPhone firmware update because you didn’t want to re-install all those “not from the App Store” apps, InstallerApp is exactly what you need.

Save the Traffic!

If for some reason you don’t have an access to the WiFi network to “let iPhone out” onto the Internet, you won’t have to download applications over EDGE or 3G networks wasting often expensive traffic.

Built-in Pusher

InstallerApp comes with free built-in Pusher — software that can install Installer.app on your iPhone without “jailbreaking” it, so you can use App Store and Installer simultaneously without putting your private data at risk.

Safer Cydia Applications

Some applications may require dpkg for functioning — package management system utilized by Cydia, and Pusher can install it too, but only much more effectively and without making a mess of your iPhone file system.

“Light” Daemon

To install applications and to let InstallerApp know which packages are installed on the iPhone, a special background application is installed on the device.

InstallerApp is commercial software. One license costs US $7. By purchasing a license you will add a capability to synchronize up to 3 different iPhones with InstallerApp to install software, get free updates for your InstallerApp 1.x, and also be eligible for the email tech support within a year after purchasing a license. Without a license, InstallerApp is a fully functional application, including ability to perform Push procedure and put Installer.app on iPhone — only package installation onto the iPhone is not available.

  • Download Installer from rapidshare or megaupload
  • Extract the .zip file and than you need to upload Installer.app to /Applications/’ folder via SSH
  • After you uploaded the Installer.app , hit Ctrl+T while in WinSCP and execute the following :

chmod -R 777 “/Applications/Installer.app”

chmod a+srx “/Applications/Installer.app/Installer”

Most Comprehensive List of Cydia and Installer Sources

This is something i’ve been working for the last two weeks or so. I spent literally hours everyday and search for every source i can find. Because sometimes i am really dumb , what i did is that i was searching and searching and made Google my bitch and every source i found i just did a copy-paste into a .doc file.

Nothing wrong so far, but i’ve put them all together, and when i was done with the list ( i think ) i was reading the .doc file and i didn’t know which one is a Cydia source, which one is a regional Cydia source and which one is a Installer source and so on. Well not really, because you can tell which one is a Cydia source and which one is a Installer source, but ,you just can’t imagine how much fun i had.
