Just a quick heads-up: The Chronic DevTeam has updated Absinthe to v0.4. The new version comes with the following changelog :
– Mac: added support for OSX 10.5, PPC and Intel CPU
– added consistency check on startup to make sure required files are in place
– Windows: fixed bug in payload generator that might cause a crash

Absinthe, the new jailbreaking tool for iPhone 4S and iPad 2, is here but it’s not perfect. Many users can’t jailbreak their devices no matter what they do. The tool was updated to bypass the database connection errors that most people encountered due to massive server loads. Still a no go for some. Planetbeing suggested we try to use terminal.app to run Absinthe, and we did just that. Worked flawlessly.

This tweak allows you to create your own custom animated bootlogos for your iOS devices running iOS 4.2.1
New day, new tweak in Cydia: Animate. This is the tweak we’ve been talking about when greenpois0n dropped. It currently only works with 4.2.1 untether provided in GreenPois0n ( mac or windows ) and redsn0w versions NOT using Jailbreak Monte. This will change eventually.
NOTE: Custom animations are stored in /Library/BootLogos/YourAniName/ from 0.png to n.png.
Animate is available for free in Cydia via BigBoss repo…
