This Google Chrome Extension Brings The iPhone X Display Notch to YouTube

A Chrome extension that brings the magic of the iPhone X’s new display to YouTube by placing a giant, ugly notch on the side of every video.

About a week ago Apple introduced the new iPhone X, and people are going crazy over it. Most people. I’m not one of them. For many reasons.

One of them, of course, is that god damn notch at the top of the screen.

But, if you’re one of those people that will skip the iPhone 8 Plus ( Or skip upgrading all together this year, it’s not the end of the world. Really! ) because of the outdated design, maybe you want to give YouTube Notch Mode a try before buying the iPhone X.

It’s a free Google Chrome extension that brings the magic of the iPhone X display to YouTube. I just installed it, and right away it made me feel like 1,000 bucks.

Chrome Apps Now Available For Mac

Back in September, Google unveils its first round of desktop-based Chrome apps and it promised Mac and Linux compatibility. Google delivered today bringing Chrome Apps to the Mac.

Back in September, Google unveiled its first round of desktop-based Chrome apps, promising Mac and Linux compatibility. The company delivered today bringing Chrome Apps to the Mac. Chrome Apps are apps that sync when you’re singed into Chrome but they offer native software functionality, meaning they will pop up in Spotlight and they can even live in your dock. Google is also delivering a Chrome App Launcher for OS X users ( see screenshot above ) that will show up in your dock as soon as you download a new app.  Wonder what kind of apps you can download? Check them out in the “For your desktop” collection in the Chrome Web Store.

Chrome Apps work offline, update automatically and sync to any computer where you’re signed into Chrome, so you can pick up where you left off. Your Chrome Apps on Mac behave and feel just like native software. For example, you can find your Chrome Apps in the Applications folder on the Dock. Search for apps by name in the Spotlight search—just like any other Mac program that you already use.
