evasi0n7 Updated To v1.0.7 To Fix Problem With Updating Bundled Package List

iOS 7 jailbreaking tool, evasi0n7, was updated to version 1.0.7 to fix a problem where the bundled package list would not be updated by Cydia.

iOS 7 jailbreaking tool, evasi0n7, was updated to version 1.0.7 to fix a problem where the bundled package list would not be updated by Cydia. If affected, you will need to restore your iOS device to iOS 7.0.6 and re-jailbreak with the latest evasi0n 7. This can be a pain in the ass but, obviously the update can’t be released for the affected devices via an evasi0n package update in Cydia, since they aren’t getting package updates.

How do you know if you’re affected? A quick way to check if you’re affected: search for a recently-released package (like SSLPatch) in Cydia. If you can find it, you’re good.

If you need a tutorial to walk you through the jailbreaking process, check out our previous post which also contains links to download evasi0n7 v1.0.7.

evasi0n7 Updated With iOS 7.0.6 Support

evasi0n7 now supports iOS 7.0.6

evasi0n7-FSMdotCOMApple released iOS 7.0.6 yesterday which includes a patch for SSL connection verification. Evasi0n7 jailbreaking tool didn’t support the new beta so an unofficial version was released to jailbreak iOS 7.0.6. However, evad3rs just released an updated evasi0n7 tool that includes support for iOS 7.0.6. For upgrading to iOS 7.0.6 backup your device and restore in iTunes, then jailbreak (and restore your backup). DO NOT USE OTA UPDATE.

To learn how to jailbreak your iOS device using iOS 7.0.6 you can follow this tutorial ( links for the new evasi0n7 tool included )

iOS 7.1 Beta 4 Patches The evasi0n7 Jailbreak

If we got lucky the last time and evasion7 could jailbreak iOS 7.1 beta 3 , that doesn’t mean Apple is sleeping when it comes to jailbreaking their iOS

If we got lucky the last time and evasion7 could jailbreak iOS 7.1 beta 3 , that doesn’t mean Apple is sleeping when it comes to jailbreaking their iOS.  According to iH8sn0w the newly released iOS 7.1 beta 4 patches the kernel exploit used by the evasi0n jailbreak. However, and iOS 7.1 jailbreak is not out of the question since we don’t know what alternatives the evad3rs team can come up with. Besides, most probably the evasi0n7 tool was updated with iOS 7.1 beta 3 support and released to the public only because an unknown author has released a ‘cooked’ version of the tool to support the beta.

There are still a couple of beta releases to go before Apple releases iOS 7.1 to the public so be patient and don’t forget the golden rule: stay away from that firmware update button.

evasi0n7 has been updated to v1.0.3 and it now includes an updated Cydia bundle and fixes a problematic issue that could cause a boot loop on the iPad Mini with Retina display.

evasi0n7

evasi0n7 has been updated to v1.0.3 and it now includes an updated Cydia bundle and fixes a problematic issue that could cause a boot loop on the iPad Mini with Retina display. The tool also brings support for iOS 7.1b3 which was previously jailbroken with a modified unofficial evasi0n7 tool.

If you’re already jailbroken there is no reason to re-jailbreak your device using the updated tool. Also, there is no reason to update to iOS 7.1b3. Jailbreakers should make a rule and stay away from any beta updates ( also stay away from that update button when Apple drops any iOS update ).

If you din’t jailbreak your device yet, download evasi0n from the links below and follow this tutorial
