Yahoo! has updated their mail app for iOS to v1.5.3 which comes with AirPrint support and mandatory performance improvements and bug fixes.

Yahoo! has updated their mail app for iOS to v1.5.3 which comes with AirPrint support and mandatory performance improvements and bug fixes. AirPrint allows you to easily print messages on your AirPrint-enabled printer, by selecting “Print” in the reply menu of a message, or via the share button in an attachment.

Google Updates Gmail For iOS With Power-User Features

Google has updated their Gmail app for iOS with features aimed at Google power-users.

Google has updated their Gmail app for iOS with features aimed at Google power-users. Now when you tap on a link in Gmail, they will open in Chrome, Maps or YouTube instead of going to the mobile web versions in Safari. Also if you have multiple Gmail accounts, now you can sign out of of those accounts without signing out all of them.

Created by Orchestra, the company behind the popular to-do list app of the same name, Mailbox eschews most of the regular functions of an email client and replaces them with new swipe gestures. Swiping a message in your inbox to the right archives it; swiping to your left saves it for later, which means it schedules it to pop up back in your inbox at a later more opportune time; swiping to the right and holding it deletes the message, and swiping to the left and holding it brings up a menu where you move or relabel the message.

Today, everybody has at least one email address and we all get tens or hundreds of emails every single day. But let’s face it, most of the emails we get daily are junk email – newsletters, press releases or those ‘funny’ pics and videos your grandma is sending everyone in your family.

Because we live in a mobile world, our iPads and especially our iPhones allow us to stay up to date with new emails anytime and anywhere. iOS 6 has introduced the new VIP feature in the default mail app, which lets you flag a contact as VIP and have their emails show up in the special VIP section in Mail as well as Notification Center. So you’ll never miss important emails. But what about the rest of them? Well… you can go and flag, move or ‘mark as read’ them one by one, or you can do them all at once, like a boss….

Sparrow Teases iPhone App

Back in August, we told you that the Sparrow team, is working on an iPhone version of the much-loved mail client. The Verge reached out to the team yesterday, and just got an early teaser of the app running on an iPhone, and while details are slim, they’ve gotten confirmation that the app will have profile images, multiple inbox support, and full label integration. Sparrow co-founder Dom Leca told them, “We want to go through and treat the mail flow as fast as possible in the most elegant and pleasurable manner.”
